I have not heard of Ron Hoff playing for Katy, but I'm watching the Katy game vs Galena Park North Shore on ESPNU and he is a BEAST!! He has run for over 90 yards in the FIRST quarter. He is big with good field vision making moves. He moved from the Carolinas and is a new student. From what I'm seeing we need to contact him tonight!!
21-17 Northshore in fourth. Katy has missed two chip shot FGs Hoff is over 200 yards. I got a text to ask me the last time anyone gained over 200 on Northshore. Not sure, but likely in the late 70s/early 80s before Dave went there and brought all those kids from Barrett Station
Katy wins 24-21!!! Hoff looked really gassed at the end of the game with over 200 yds for the game. Great game!
Ron Hoff has over 200+ on North Shore, is that good? I think that is good. Seriously, I'm betting his phone is about to start ringing off the hook, his only offer was from Citadel. That is going to change tomorrow. Right now there are running back coaches calling head coaches saying "Are you seeing this kid"!!!!
North Shores offensive and defensive lines were completely dominated by Katy. This North Shore team is vastly overrated.
I wonder if North Shore is not their usual dominant self this year or maybe we have a special Katy group. If anyone knows where I can find a recording or replay of the game please let me know.
I would say that's outstanding. North Shore was ranked #2 nationally according to the broadcast. I'm not sure that's accurate but they are really good. I will say Hoff's production against that defense is elite in my opinion.
NS is (was ?) #4 in state in classification (6A, I believe). Katy unranked and rebuilding, as it were. Hoff is a transfer in from South Carolina.
Katy always reloads. That said NS is stacked again this year. Statement win by Katy but dont be fooled. NS didn't lose much. They gonna wreck shop again this year.
That Alabama commit OT for NS, pretty much killed any chance they had for a comeback late in the fourth. That was the second time in that series he took a chicken **** cheap shot. First one didn't get called. Instead of first & ten, NS had first & 15, which led to second & 30. I think it is #16 for NS that is headed to Arkansas, is going to be a really good WR for the Hogs and probably a KR. Kid can motor. Evans backup looked better than Evans, who had that look like "I'm the star, you guys aren't supposed to hit me that hard".
I'd take Hoff over Evans as he looks to be more of an every down, 30 carry a game back who can block blitzing LBs once he learns how..... Evans does have that take it to the house speed, but I like that big back who can run over and around you like Hoff does.
I got tired of the announcers calling Evans "the five star rinning back" every time he carried the ball so I turned it off in the first period.
