King is the type of stupid racist where he says it in public. King’s interview with the NYTimes when he identified as a white nationalist racist was a bridge too far, even for the GOP. That type of language is still unapproved language in public and on the record. And he had been warned.

They did more than deny him money. They stripped him off his committee assignments. Despite being a 16 year veteran of the House, they've made the least powerful member of Congress. In other words, they've done everything they can to discredit and disassociate from him.

And yet Ilhan Omar is accommodated and mollycoddled by her party and celebrated by the media. And of course, she still sits on the Foreign Affairs Committee where her horrific ideas can have the greatest impact.

I wonder if he considered what linking power hoses washing pieces of chit off sidewalks to power hoses hitting civil right activists could mean. Seems a poor choice.

 

You bring up a good idea. Post in the newspaper the day and time when street sidewalks will be cleaned. Then show up and power wash the **** and the drugged out bodies on the sidewalk. That would wake them up. After a few dousings, I suspect they move to a different city.

So in all likelihood, he is what you describe him to be but married somebody with some money. Abbott is stupid to apologize. It's very clear what he meant, and it had nothing to do with vigilante law enforcement. It was a routine mailer like politicians send out everyday. I'm not a fan of them, though I wrote some of them back in the day. They're stupid, but there was nothing particularly inflammatory about this one.

And of course, he curries no favor by issuing an apology. It just invites more attacks on him.

 

Oh, come now. I'm sure after that apology, Longest Horn has been all over the interwebz defending Greg Abbot's honor.
