A name from earlier in this thread that several of us were intrigued by - Kamaria Gipson. Whatever they’re paying the assistant at SDSU who seems to have really amped up their Texas recruiting, they’re earning it.

With Friday's home volleyball match against Texas A&M, and Saturday's primetime football game against Oklahoma State, this is probably another very big recruiting weekend for lots of our sports programs.

Wondering if Shay Holle and Ashley Chevalier will be taking their official visits. Any other 2020 recruit making an official visit would be a surprise to me as I haven't read about any other names.

I initially thought Sierra Canyon boys' basketball trip to Duncanville might be an opportunity for Ashley’s official (her dad is the head coach) but considering their family calendar is probably very restricted by the basketball season - Dad, Ashley's schedule plus her mom's as WBB head coach at Pierce College - getting it done before the season is probably the safest bet.

Jamie Carey and George Washington "liked" her tweet; hope that's a good indicator. Could not tell if coaches from other schools (Tech, SDSU, Illinois) liked her tweet also.

The tweet has been liked by Coach Aston, Carey, and George and also a few of the Texas players. So I assume she’s already let them know her intentions. Guess we’ll wait and see.

Sorry to be so dense, but WHO is this and what year is she? It was re-tweeted by WBB, so it must be real

Thanks. For the record I tried searching Raoul's list for a "Pressy" or a "Pebbles". This new fangled twitter thingie where you don't have a real name. Confusing for this old fart.

Have to admit that I have never heard the name Precious Johnson.

From the little I checked, she seems to have good size already; so, growing into her body won't be her issue.

2018 Basketball on the Bayou : All About the Bigs

Precious Johnson 6-4 Texas Phenoms Red – WNBA frame, good hands, finishes well, Runs floor, rebounds both ends. DI Prospect. Room for growth.

Ok. I’m confused. Easily. Did we just get 2 commitments for 2020? E Coleman and P Johnson? And is Johnson......Precious (Sterling HS in Baytown) or Maliyah Johnson ? Assuming they are different Johnson’s, neither Coleman or Precious is ranked in top 60 on HoopGulz. Can someone make my life easy by telling me something about both? With Aston saying we added ONE to the family......that further confused me. HELP!

Got commits from both Elyssa Coleman and Precious Johnson (not Maliyah). Know almost nothing about Precious but Elyssa was 22-6A District MVP as a sophomore and tore her ACL during the playoffs sidelining her for summer basketball and most of her junior year. She’s the best player on a good Atascocita squad - plus defender with good length, athletic ability.

Only two scholarships left for 2020 and 2021 combined unless someone leaves the team early, not something I like to anticipate, but....

Really only 2 for both years? If thats the case Texas needs to really step up the pressure and try & go after some big names

The only big name/ need that they’re currently going after is Sarah Andrews but she will likely end up at Baylor.

With these two recent commits, my first thought was...."Who?" Looking them up on the Hoopgurlz list they don't show up as top-whatever. Maybe Karen took my advice and is focusing on junkyard dogs who play her type of stiff defense. After all a few years of top 10 recruiting and look where it got us. Yes, some of the top players and then they transferred in the end.

My only question is has Coach Aston improved as a coach? I don’t have a problem getting quality players that are not great or ranked high ON PAPER if we knew the head coach had a history of running a system that got the most out of that talent.

True, but the coaches are recruiting a number of high profile players for 2021 including Aaliyah Moore from Oklahoma. I'm not even hoping for Andrews -- will just be a happy surprise if she picks Texas.

According to ESPNW, Priscilla Williams has committed to Syracuse. She is number 11 in the Hoopgulz top 60. I believe she has moved in and out of Texas in her high school career. At some point, she was in the Houston area then went back to Missouri or Ohio or ? The details may be a little soft, but close. The article says that 9 of top 20 are still uncommitted.

I don't know I think Texas has a good chance of getting her. She has a strong relationship with the rest of the team & speaks very highly of Texas and she is also building a strong relationship with the new Texas coach/recruiter Terry Nooner. He is a very big part of the recruiting process now. The two new commits speak very highly of him so I think Texas has a chance the more he builds a relationship with recruits

I hope that's the case kurupt. I hope it's not elite players turning their backs against Texas.

Like Mooooo, I can't find much information on Precious Johnson. She's not listed in prospectsnation database (the one that lists everyone from 2020).

When I see the other finalists for Elyssa Coleman are Texas Tech (4 wins, 14 losses in conference), San Diego State (7 wins, 11 losses), Illinois (2 wins, 16 lossses), LSU (7 wins, 9 losses), and Texas (12 wins, 6 losses), one of those schools is not like the other four, it doesn't give me a lot of confidence that elite players are not turning their backs on Texas.
