Yep. An ugly win beats a pretty loss (if there is such a thing).

Have to credit both lines and LB. If we do not win there, the other efforts fail.

Well, tackling our MLB on the TD run was the worst as it was not called despite being so obvious.

We really tried to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory multiple times.

I’m just so glad to get the OSU monkey off our back. A huge win, and ugly. Let’s call it a Rosie O’Donnell win.

I like that Herman owned the punt return situation...Would have been better for him to say," We shouldn't have had anyone back there in those situations".....but at least he owned it.

Afraid Sterns could be done with that knee, plus a few other injuries that may sideline guys for OU and beyond.... If we get Whittington back we may need him to play DB......He did in high school, and did it well.

Yea, I was at that game. And it was stupid. But it was not as stupid as what Jones did tonight trying to catch it sliding. The stakes were clearly different, but if you just look at the 2 plays Jone's takes the cake. No kissy on the cheek for you!

I give credit to the often-maligned Kobe Boyce for a couple of nice pass break ups. Also I credit true Freshman Adimora for two real good plays.

We’re young back there, but getting better — absent the recent injuries.

So, we survived. And talk about teaching moments. It’ll be interesting to see who is fielding punts in two weeks. I would like to think that the lesson has been learned, but who knows?

    The Good

Sam, as usual. Great game manager. Played very well.

    Duvernay, as usual.

    The O Line.

The D Line. In fact, the D played reasonably well, all told. If not for the muffs we might have held this explosive offense to about 20 points.

Some new faces on D that will help us going forward.

I think we can beat OU.

Ingram played well also. The OL is our best in recent years (last ten years no doubt).

Other than some goofball special teams errors (which swung the score 14 pts or so), this was a good overall performance against a major nemesis.

Seems like this board is high, or I am. I call this a good win at home, beating the spread. Youth reared it's ugly head, but the team overcame!

I was there for that one. Make the catch, Texas wins 9-3. But it was a "CLANG!" right off his hands and the rest is history.

There were some great highlights produced by our guys, as well as some areas identified that require some work.

I came into the game fearing OSU. It was obvious after the 1st quarter that Texas had this game in hand and that OSU basically only has 3 good players (QB, RB, WR). At that point the only question is if Texas can manage its business. In some areas, the answer is yes. In other areas, they tried to give the game away. Positives are that Texas is decidedly better than OSU. The negatives are that Texas didn’t manage this game well in certain areas.

We need CJ back on offense to take load off Duvernay. Our secondary will be fine with 2 weeks to prepare for WV. God help our punt and KO return team.

I have to admit, Texas defense better against pass than I expected (in the 2nd half) while losing several starters. Boyce and Cook played well. The Safeties actually gave up more plays.

You know, if we played like this last year or any year up to 2009, Texas would have lost this game.

    But Texas didn't lose.

To me this was a huge win for Texas, not just because we beat a conference rival, but because we played like crap and still managed to win. Get healthy and tighten things up and we should walk into Dallas 4-1 and ready for war.

Had to fly today. Chicago-Branson-DFW and back. Didn't start watching the DVR until midnight. Agree with the above post. Didn't play "great" overall and still WON. That is allsome. Left a lot of plays out there. I am gruntled and encouraged.

Texas Gameday Final crew is happy, so am I.

I'm happy that we can play a good team with our B-minus game and come out with a win. Plenty of mistakes to go around, but we wouldn't have won this game last year. We need to get healed up on defense, so the bye-week is perfect.

Ultimately, if you'd said "Will you take holding OSU to 30 points" going in, I'd have taken that. And considering some of the in-game situations, that's a pretty solid performance.

Was glad that Herman owned up to that horrible fourth down run call in the second quarter. It happens.

Too bad that several of our players would rather have their pictures taken after the game instead of joining the rest of the team for the Eyes.

Also glad he admitted he should have told #19 to leave the punt alone. ( actually that player, being a Senior, should have known better ). Special teams coach should have had that coached into him. On play calling.....we can only be glad if we don't see that again. I also don't understand why Herman didn't ask for a review when the refs marked #16 short of the sticks. It sure looked like he got across the first down indicator on TV. I saw two games Saturday where the coaches asked for a review of the spot. Will have to watch the game again, but I think one of the announcers mentioned he thought Smith got the first down. Herman should have challenged the spot of the ball.
We have to feel lucky we are not WSU fans....Even though our coaches and players make us want to pull our hair out at times, its nothing compared to what those fans had to endure last night. Worst display of defense and ball security I've seen in decades.

Sloppy win over a pretty potent team is a good win. I'd like to thank Gundy for some of his decisions that helped our cause greatly.
My boy Duvernay is still performing like a possible first round draft choice!
I prefer Epps to be a fast tight end rather than a slow wr.
Keontay played really well, had some fantastic runs.
We need more throws to Eagles that's for sure.
I think the defense played better than expected. O-line was solid.
Seems like we can count on a few gaffes from Herman every week. Maybe that's par for the course with all coaches.
I say keep up with the trick plays, maybe it keeps the defense thinking. I would like to see a deep pass from Roshon on some kind of end around or half back pass or how about a hand off to him where he approaches the line like he's going to run then throws one of those tebow jump throws to a tight or some one. Now that's some foolery there.

Obviously, Sam's a good runner, but a wildcat formation with Roschon Johnson would be interesting, especially since he's a threat to throw the ball.
Once he comes back, same deal for Whittington. He played QB in high school, at least.

A package with Sam, Roschon, and Whittington in the backfield at the same time would have all kinds of possibilities.

Anyone knocking fans leaving early has not had to sit for 2 hours trying to get out of those parking garages. Back when we had parking at DF-F we never left before The Eyes.... After just two games of having to park in the garages, SMDH......I understood why people left early.

Never seeing the empty set out of shotgun on third/fourth and short would make most of us happy...Has to be the dumbest thing in football. ( aside from what #19 did on that punt ) LOL
