Not sure it’s worth much. I thought CJ was probable last night. He did not play.

Mainly worried Sterns hurt his knee. If he did they may want to wait a few days for swelling to go down before doing an MRI.

Sterns did not look good....if done he can RS too.....
Green dislocated shoulder will depend on the grade of the dislocation. Could be a couple weeks to several or season ending.
Thompson broken foot probably ends his season....Could RS since he hasn't taken one yet.....
Jamison a stinger could be back for WVU to missing a good while depending on how it reacts to treatment.
Tillman knee sprain same as Green's situation.
Could lose these guys for a considerable amount of time....
We need Overshown and Foster back asap. Maybe we can turn Whittington into a DB for a while if he returns soon. He was a stud DB in HS.

Josh Thompson will get screws put in his broken foot, so most likely out for the year.
But, he can still use a redshirt

So where does all this leave our depth chart at CB and S for WVU?

I noticed true Freshman Adimora playing and playing rather well.

We could use Collin Johnson back too. Those who were saying he was not playing up to expectations may be right (a hamstring injury will do that) but even with the injury he is still head and shoulders better than Burt or Epps.

Today is the day we should hear about our injuries. I usually hate the bi week, this time, I'm grateful for it.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Yes, the BYE is truly a blessing this week.

I think this team would be in trouble going into any conference game with all the injuries we've heard about and the ones we didn't hear about... entire team needs a break and some rest to heal up.

Green and Thompson both out for extended time. Thompson done for season, might as well redshirt.... Green is out for at least 4-6 weeks...He may as well shirt too if we don't need him down the road. We need Whittington well very soon. He can play DB. Especially if Sterns is out. School him in the class room while he rehabs, then turn him loose when he gets back on the field. Surely our RBs who are out will be back, and we won't need him there.

We already knew Thompson was gone for the season when yesterday it was reported he would have a screw inserted, but that's actually a little better than I expected for Green. He could be back for the last 4 games and bowl. I guess still nothing for sure known on Sterns.

I'm checking in to hear what the word is on Tillman and Sterns. Once we get Foster and Overshown back, I'll feel a lot better about our safety situation. I'm sort of expecting the worst news when it comes to Sterns, He can still redshirt and rehab. As long as it isn't an Achilles injury he should be back strong, this year on next.

Herman, while not stating what was wrong with Sterns, says Sterns will be out four weeks. I wish we had him for the OU game.

Honestly, he needs the time to heal, he is having a terrible sophomore year, and I think it has a lot to do with playing injured. Give him as much time as possible to heal and he will be much stronger for the B12CG and our bowl game. I'd even be okay with him taking a red shirt to heal up for next year. We need him at 100%.

No Sterns, Thompson, or Green for OU. The offense better score a LOT!!!

Losing Green hurts a lot, but Overshown, Foster and and Jones should keep our safeties good. Corners are in bad shape without Green, but I will say that we did a much better job out there on Saturday, I'm hoping they are growing up and will give a good showing in Dallas. Cook, Jamison, and Boyce are going to be our key. I'm sure Watson and Estelle will get some PT along with Owens and Adamora. We are walking wounded, but we still have some talent.

At his press conference Herman Said:

Sterns sprained his tibula fibula ligament - out 4 weeks.

Green dislocated shoulder - out 4 weeks.

Tillman - surgery. Out for the season.

Thompson broken foot - out a "significant amount of time"

Collin Johnson - expected to start practicing this week.

Kirk Johnson - cleared for W Va

BJ Foster - best case, plays W Va

Overshown - best case, plays W Va

Think I may have mentioned this on game day regarding Green...
Really unfortunate...It came a few plays after the Smith muff with clock running out in the first half. Our offense should have been on the field.

Love that we are getting our RBs back.

I've never heard of anyone spraining bones? I'm curious what that is about. I'm guessing the bones are flexable enough that they bent without breaking but the bend caused some slight fractures. For us old dudes they probably snap like twigs.

    I miss my youth.

It's not a bone sprain. You can break a bone or get a contusion, but I don't think you can sprain a bone. It was actually his tibiofibular ligament which is a ligament between the tibia and fibula.

But what do I know, I'm not a Dr, even though when I watch a Longhorn FB game with a friend of mine he keeps saying I need to have patients.

Against the ou defense that will not be an issue.

Here’s my “rose colored glasses” assessment. While losing any players is not a good thing...

Sterns has been struggling, at least from what I have seen. Perhaps it’s a lingering injury or the sophomore blues. But he has not been the player over the past half season that we saw burst onto the scene early last year. We are reasonably deep at the position, assuming that Foster and Overshown are available.

While I thought that Green had his best game last Saturday, as Herman has basically intimated, there hasn’t been much separation at that position. Not having him available is certainly not a good thing but again, we do have options. And perhaps, just perhaps, Green’s misfortune will be Adamora’s opportunity.

For some reason I am not devastated by the news....but we cannot afford much more attrition.

If we get past WV and OU (and Kansas), we should have almost all of our players back for the playoff run!

The second week off between TCU and K-State could not have been placed better for the current set of injuries. The issue is who gets hurt in the ou game.

it was the ligament attached to the tibula fibua. I just got lazy with my typing.

Don't count on Sterns and Green for the rest of the season. They need healing time.
You don't want Green to be tentative when tackling.
That was a hard "head on" collision when they hit. Maybe Green learned a lesson but I still like his demeanor when tackling, just needs to be a little smarter.
