Both offenses will score in the 40's, Texas defense has a better chance of stopping the blowu offense.
Having CJ in at WR will help immensely. If they double team CJ, Duvernay is open. If they double team Duvernay then Collins can certainly beat his man for a 1st down (maybe not healed enough for longer pass plays). It’s big for him to be available. I think the line setters are ignoring this after watching the results of the last 2 games.
ou has not covered in this game since 2012 -13.5 (2013) -16.5 (2014) -16.5 (2015) -13.5 (2016) -9 (2017) -7 (2018)
Seems pretty high in light of the fact that it is a rivalry game and the only team we did not defeat (but hung with) is a Top 5 team. Would love to know what the line would be if we had barely beat LSU.
Texas-OU (Regular Season) Since 1980 OU 19 wins, Texas 18 wins, 2 Ties Texas-OU (Regular Season) Since 1990 OU 14 wins, Texas 14 wins, 1 Tie Texas-OU (Regular Season) Since 2000 OU 12 wins, Texas 7 wins Texas-OU (Regular Season) Since 2010 OU 6 wins, Texas 3 wins
I like the game right at 73 total. With Horns scoring high 30's and blow u low 30's. If we knock Hurts down hard a couple of times we win by at least 7. Hurts has not been hit much in his entire career. Our D is very physical. This could be really really fun if our young toughs can catch Hurts a few times.
Hurts is what is worrying me. Unlike snowflake and cry baby, Hurts is big enough to handle the hits. Somehow Texas will have to make him one dimensional by taking away his running lanes or clamping down on his receivers. Texas will have to frustrate him somehow. I haven't seen Texas so either with sufficient consistency.
When our big rough and extremely tough noseguard racks Hurts' asss that will be very good. And when Ossi lays the wood on Hurts' ribs it will take the starch right out of Hurts' shirt. Look for it. Hurts has not been hit so far this year. He will be smacked come this Saturday.
Sure wish we had a Rak or Kindle coming off the edge. One thing this team really needs is an edge rusher that can beat his man most downs. Remember when Kindle ear holed Harrell? Course you'd get thrown out of the game now, but man those type of hits change games. All of a sudden QB gets happy feet.
I thought I saw some Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt in his eyes at the press conference. Maybe his tackles really are out.
Injury updates -- Keaontay Ingram (stinger) was cleared and practiced Sunday Collin Johnson (hamstring) practiced on Sunday. Looks like he will play Cade Brewer is “progressing and will progress into practice.” No concussion. Chris Brown (thigh contusion) expected back at practice DeMarvion Overshown: “We plan to practice him barring any setbacks on Tuesday.“ Want to work him back in.
He is fit, ready and fearless. He wants to relive the last 4 years everytime he is in on a play. OU will be his dream game. Give him the damn ball!
