Baylor had lost only 2 sets all year before tonight.

Baylor Volleyball is a lot like Baylor Football - non-conference schedule a bit light.

Announcers, very experienced at that, were saying they had played some big teams.

Not enough to be #1. Even on the road, the #1 team should not lose to the #4 team in straight sets.

Don't disagree, just reporting what they said. Hey, it must have been a big game. Even though it was on LHN, they had Holly Rowe there working the sideline.

Baylor had beaten #4 Wisconsin, #11 Marquette, #13 Hawaii, #17 Missouri along with UCLA, Creighton, Syracuse, Tennessee. While losing only 2 sets. Not a bad resume. I anticipate seeing a much different team in Waco. They played poorly and the Horns had a great game. I was shocked but happy with the entire match. The Horns never had a real lull.

Right, and I don't know those teams' records now, so I can't speak to whether beating those teams early now doesn't look good for Baylor.

You are correct as those rankings were "at the time of the matches" and vary now. For instance, Creighton was unranked when they played Baylor but now is number 10. Regardless of whether Baylor was overrated or their schedule was iffy...……...the Horns looked absolutely dominating. I think they had 9 service aces, a lot of blocks and receive/passing was superb. For last night, the Horns were head and shoulders above the Bears. Butler has made a huge difference. As much as I love Molly Phillips and how wonderful she played early, Butler takes us to a different level. As she should...........this is her third year (redshirted freshman year). Phillips will be a huge part of the future success of the Horns.

That was SUCH a fun environment last night. I think the only other time I've seen Gregory like that was during regionals. I honestly expected Baylor to bounce back at any moment, but it just didn't happen. Our ladies played their hearts out, and their athleticism was on full display last night!

Here's a view from our seats:

One sad thing that happened on Wednesday night was that I sat my poster down to take some pics of the women after the match and when I looked again it was gone! Really wanted to hang it up in my gym for the kids to see! I'm hoping they will have more printed!

Plummer still out for Stanford. It certainly doesn't help the Texas SOS.
