I remember all the crap Danny White got for getting the Boys to the NFC championship 3 straight years but never the Super Bowl. When was the last time they went to the NFC championship 3 straight years? Not to mention, how awesome is it to have a QB that doubles as your punter.

I started out in life a Houston Oiler fan because of Earl Campbell. All my heart and loyalty was in Luv Ya Blue. But then they left and were no longer the Houston Oilers. So I found myself looking for a new team. I tried with all my might to be a Cowboy fan, but I absolutely hate Jerry Jones, just like I hate the dude that owned the Oilers. I only have one reason for hating Jerry Jones.

Out of all the coaches in the history of the NFL, only one did I respect so completely that I could not cheer against him, and that was Tom Landry. The way Jerry Jones disrespected him by firing him was unforgivable. so I left the NFL all together and I almost never watch it anymore.

It's been 30 years, probably time to move past the "firing Tom Landry" thing. The Landry's were our neighbors in Lakeway. Mrs. Landry was a beautiful and kind woman. I would run into them at the grocery store, Coach would be pushing the cart and Mrs. would be picking the items off the shelf. He was actually quite tall and quite. Both dressed to the nines.

The problem is there are no signs that the Jones family will be selling the club anytime in the next two generations. Charlotte is the smartest of the siblings (at least she went to Stanford), but Stephen is turning out to be Jerrah 2.0, and Jerry Jr. is the behind the scenes man on the non-football side. After that bunch comes Charlotte's kids and John Stephen (who will join the family business once he graduates from piglet).

I remember a game later in his career where Too Tall jumped, lost his balance forward, managed to avoid contact with the offensive linemen, tiptoed down the line a few spots, reset and then got a sack.

I remember the time when Too Tall was in the Earl Campbell-Tim Wilson Charity Golf Tournament, played at Falcon Point, got mad at all the water hazards, so he lifted his clubs over his head and threw the whole bag out in the water.

Funny. I was playing golf with Bradshaw in Orlando once, and he got so mad at his play that he tried to throw his bag up into a tree. When that didn't work he pulled out his 7 iron and threw it up the tree. A couple of years later I was playing the same course, and the club was still in the tree.

1979/80ish...had a pair of "TDs ... Tony Dorsett" white cleats I wore all day, every day. ...til they finally fell apart.

First taste of the pain of sports came watching Jackie Smith drop that pass and "my team" lose. (I didnt realize they could actually lose)

    Pittsburg won that one..
...but they never beat Dallas once in my electric football game.
