We can't shoot. And we don't have forwards.

    Yet we are 4-0.

Too early to make any predictions. Last night UNC struggled with GW, Duke struggled with Ga So. and Baylor was tied with the Bobcats at half. From what we're seeing right now a few more games and Jones will be starting over Ramey and Williams will be starting over Febres. Things may start clicking for Baker too, you never know. I think by mid season this team will be better than last years.

    I agree.
I think we saw a bit of what can be during the NIT run.
The absence of a one and done lottery pick will be a good thing for this team.

To a point. Our NIT run was against mediocre teams, with TCU being the highest rated by polls and Sagarin and what-not. We haven't seen enough out of the big guys (or guard consistency) to show that we can hang with NCAA tournament teams. The Purdue game was a nice start for Sims and Liddell, but if they are our entire frontcourt depth, we're an injury away from complete disaster and just playing 4 guards the whole game. None of our current bigs are anywhere close to the talent/execution of Hayes, Allen, Bamba, etc.

I think the upside is that this roster is a lot closer to what Smart had at VCU, but we don't seem to be playing the HAVOC style.

That is all I have seen the entire time Smart has been here after we lost Barnes' PG hold over after the first year. I thinl Smart runs the "quail" offense, everybody scatter and then stand around.
