That would do it. But, the committee should have lost all credibility the moment they put 2 teams from the same conference in the playoffs. At least that is my position. IT should be more like the playoffs in the pros. The players dream of being in the pros, so let them get a taste of of it. Losses at the wrong point in time send you home.

    2003,

You have to have something before you can lose it

Yes it was. However, Oregon played in the initial CFP. They routed Florida State 59-20 in the Rose Bowl and then got knocked around here in Arlington by Ohio State.

I hope this given Van Fillinger a pause, especially if we win our game.

Any chance Utah falls to our Bowl Game?

Id love a shot to pound Utah but I like the idea of playing ND in Orlando too.

PAC-12 has made the CFB twice: 2014 season & the 2016 season.
    - Oregon advancing the the Championship by beating Florida State then losing to Ohio St in the 2014 season’s playoff.
    - Washington lost 24-7 to Alabama in the 2016 season’s playoff.

Both of those seasons are the playoffs that the Big XII didn’t get into.

Probably not. The Big XII and Pac-12 are the weak sisters of the Power 5 and the Committee as a whole would just as fill the slots with teams from the ACC, B1G, and $EC. Why? That is where the majority of TV sets (read advertising which fuels rights revenue to the NCAA) are.

Again this proves my point. If OU wins, are they in? Probably. If Baylor wins? If not, Houston we have a problem.

    2003,

    Regardless, we have TWO problems:

    1) Bowelsby and his overwhelming ignorance

    2) Without Dr Boren, the conference has no leadership and non president strong enough to stand up to to the NCAA and ABC.

If Georgia loses I believe that we winner of OU Baylor will be in.

If Georgia wins it could get interesting, and political. Georgia probably goes over OU, unless OU’s win is dominating. But if Baylor wins and plays a good game (not a fluke win), there may be pressure on the committee to include Baylor because of the uniqueness of the situation. In other words, Baylor? Plus, Baylor over two SEC teams is a winnable argument. If they exclude Baylor in these circumstances then they would be sending a message that if yours is not a blue blood program, your school will be discriminated against.

If Baylor gets in over Georgia in the scenario above, there will probably be plenty of death threats against the committee members. We all know the level of class of some of the SEC fans.

While Clemson is great, the rest of the ACC is worse than the Big XII and Pac12. One team does not make the rest of that sorry conference good.

Take a second to consider that Kansas easily won at Boston College and West Virginia easily beat N.C. State.

That is how the Committee looks at it from a revenue generating perspective.

Actually from top to bottom the Big XII is probably the strongest. ACC has one strong team and the $EC has at least 2 strong teams annually (some seasons 4).

ND is more a historical power than a current rising one.

That message has already been sent and agreed upon by the powers that be since long ago. The majority of the time, whether in the polls, the BCS, or the playoffs, "ties" in resumes are broken by historical prestige and preseason ranking.

Well it looks like Baylor vs Georgia in the Sugar Bowl. I wonder if Georgia will "show up" this time.

Depends on final rankings. The $EC sends the highest ranked non-CFP team to the Sugar Bowl.

True. Bama might get the nod after this shellacking.
