Does anyone know what’s really going on with JW? I’m concerned that this could be a chronic, career threatening situation. I say that because we were hearing the week before OU that he was perhaps one week away. Then the next week, and the next, and the next. I feel sorry for the young man...
I remember those college days when getting a coed to pull your groin was easy as pie. Groin injuries were just a hazard of being a college man.
Hope not for his sake and ours. Looks to me to be one of the more dynamic offensive players we've seen on the 40 in a while.
I get the impression they tried to bring him back too soon and screwed up the rehab. This thing is supposed to be easy to recover from, from what I have heard. i too am afraid of a possible career ender. I hope not , cause this kid was a special talent.
But it was not fixed correctly the first time. Evidently Whittington is still having some soreness and pain but the MRI that has been reviewed by the operating doctor indicates everything is fine. I think more rest will help the best.
That is not good. We sure could have used him this year and will probably really need him next year for sure. There must be more to the story but hopefully the off season will help a lot.
This has been gone over! This injury and first surgery was in high school and recovery not sufficient! That’s we Texas dr’s sent him to Philly to a specialist which led to him missing his Time. He was cleared to work out but never saw action and lots of goombaghs on here yelling “why ain’t he playing” Seems like the staff was doing the right thing with him and recently sent him back to Phillyfor a new MRI! Herman spoke at length ago a few weeks ago
Well, I think he shouldn't "risk it all" but make sure his injury is fully healed and he's 100%. THEN show everyone what you can do. Come back too soon, everyone will say "well, he risked it all and lost".....
2019 was a freak year: JWhit hurt with a freak injury RB recruit hurt with freak health issue Floyd hurt with freak health issue RB/DB/TE injuries
It would be something if our top two 2019 recruits never played a significant number of snaps for Texas...McCoy and Whittington....
Top two rated athletes of the class. I think Whittington will be back and hopefully McCoy will recover enough to play at USC.
Brought him back too soon, IMO. Disclaimer: Detective Shilala is not licensed to practice medicine in the state of Texas or any other state, and doesn't even play one on TV.
Hmmm doc... To qualify as “having been brought back too early,” wouldn’t an actual on-field appearance be required? To my knowledge JW never saw the field after surgery # 2. Man do I sure hope he fully recovers. The idea of having JW and Bijan in the same backfield exceeds my threshold for glee.
oh, I thought he played in one game but I may have imagined it. Disclaimer: Detective Shilala doesn't claim to know ****. Any resemblance to knowing **** is ficticious. Any similarity to actual **** known, is purely coincidental.
He played vs LaTech which was sandwiched between the first two surgeries. Think your assessment is correct, Detective...with a caveat. They did play him too soon but had no reason to suspect or identify what apparently was a less than stellar first surgery by a less than expert surgeon. It seems that first surgery may have exasperated the problem that is now being handled by the supposed best. I'm with Duke on the thought of having Bijan and JWhitt out of the backfield.
I believe he was talking about after the first surgery, which is probably true though that couldn't have known. I am so with you on the JWhitt/Bijan sentiment. I believe JWhitt has a shiftiness (could just be from the loose abductor tissue lol) we've been lacking for some time... and time will tell on Bijan but he sure looks the part.
Actually "bringing him back too soon." can also involve going back to full speed practices too soon. Maybe even lifting too soon, etc.....
Rain, I completely agree with you and your assessment...which now has me concerned about my cognitive processing proficiency...
