Did anyone else watch? I can’t remember the last time I saw UConn so soundly defeated. UConn got very little near the basket. They kept score close for three quarters. They tied the score or even led by a point or two, but never really looked like they could take the game. In the fourth quarter, Baylor flattened the Huskies thouroughly,

Watched the game. The end of the 1st half interview with Geno was bizarre - he almost sounded out of it or a bit tipsy.

Really impressed by Christyn Williams and Daingerfield hit some shots but not wowed by the rest of the Huskies. Of all the Baylor players, really wish the Longhorns could have closed the deal with Queen Egbo. As it stands now, she's stuck behind Nalyssa Smith and Cox, with Gusters on the horizon...

Baylor looked pretty invincible. UConn isn't as good as usual. Their four players have to be hitting from outside the whole game, since their inside play is not very strong. I agree with you DFW Horn, Queen Egbo blew it by signing with Baylor if she wants to see a lot of action. She would have been a very big part of our rotation. I don't get it about T'ea Cooper. Didn't she play at SC last year? How come she didn't have to sit out a year? I guess it's the graduate transfer thing like Danny Williams did with us. I hate the whole idea that players can just switch teams on a dime. Takes away from the real meaning of team. Geno is a jerk. No player should go there unless they don't mind being ridiculed and put down.

I worked the Women's Final Four here in Dallas. The UConn fans were as rude and crude as any I have met, were making fun of Miss State fans so I was happy to see them lose on their home court.

With Collier and Prince both signing with Texas for 2018, why would Queen have thought she would have had "a lot of action"?

As it stands, she's got a National Championship ring and a bright future in Waco.

Of course she could not have known, but that, as things have turned out, she would have gotten more playing time here than in Waco. Between a ring and getting to play a lot, I think most players would take playing a lot. Maybe she does play a lot. I really have no idea, but she didn't see much action last night.

Exactly! Whomever is responsible for hiring coaches at Baylor, they sure know how to pick them. If CDC is the competitor he's said to be, I can't imagine him continuing to allow the mediocrity that most UT sports have become notorious for.

It's a great day when anyone, even Baylor, beats UCONN. The Huskies don't strut like they did back in their good old days. Geno looks tired.

its as if Baylor and Texas changed roles. We’re now the floor mat in the Big XII. I expect and hope CDC will make decisions that benefit Texas in the long run.

I have often referred to our programs as the "step ladder." We're the big name that other more well-coached programs use (by means of defeating us) to elevate them to another level. While it's certainly not just exclusive to WBB, Baylor has definitely used that process to build their brand and cement it among the nation's elite. Football and volleyball are threatening us as well.

He seems to have fixed softball. I expect changes in basketball at the end of this season, and baseball pretty soon if Pierce doesn't right the ship. That CWS appearance two years ago will only get him so far after finishing last in 2019. Herman is already on the hot seat for 2020. Look for a push to try to get Oregon's WBB coach at the end of this season.

Those programs go after the best coach they can find. Texas on the other hand thinks they have to keep an IMAGE. We could have had Kim years ago but she wasn't refined enough for the regents. No way would we have hired Orgeron for the same reason. Could have had Briles years ago ( before the scandle ) but too good for that at the time. Leach would fall in the same ballpark ( not that I would want his don't need defense mind-seat ). If Elliott doesn't fix his back row play and serving, Baylor will take over VB in the Big 12 if they don't lose their coach to powerhouse.

Notice how a contract extension isn't being rushed for KA. She should be feeling the heat. I fully expect CDC to do the right thing especially if the Horns underperform again.
