I'm not saying we have no interests in Israel. We certainly do. I'm just saying that we have no interest in the Mount Moriah issue.

Our interests involving other countries are less important than that country's and their neighbors interests.

It's an "internal issue" and absolutely has every bearing on our interests.

Almost nothing Israel does is exclusively domestic ... and having The Temple rebuilt on Mt. Moriah ... yeah, that's definitely not a domestic only issue. That's the least domestic issue Israel has.

How exactly does it impact our interests? It'll start a big fight between Israel and pretty much every Muslim in the area, which obviously could impact us depending on how broad the violence becomes. If Muslims attack our embassy or start killing Americans in the area, obviously that impacts us. However, the underlying issue doesn't impact us. It's no skin off our nose if Jews pray or don't pray there or decided to build another Temple there.

Yes Deez. Come to the dark side. Apply that logic broadly to US involvement in the Middle East. You can break free from the government's lies. Join me and we can rule the galaxy together!!

    No thanks, Emperor.

And I actually do apply that logic broadly. Some things justify intervention. Some things don't. Too many on both sides treat it as an always/never proposition. It isn't.

Ah, darn. I guess you will have to rule the empire yourself with Trump and the Pentagon.

think of it as the old adage ... you may not be interested in politics, but politics is interested in you.

What happens in Israel affects us all whether we want it to be so or not.

There's been this notion of "support Israel because they are the only democracy in the Middle East" ... which isn't wrong, but our support of Israel isn't based only on the geo-political pieces. In our earlier generations, which had greater clarity on things that matter (like what gender a person IS), we understood the importance of the Jewish homeland.

Some of us even understand that this is but one tribe of all Israel, that God hasn't forgotten, and those other tribes will become relevant again soon. Some of us understand that opposing Israel's existence (not necessarily everything they do) has resulted in destruction.

So, the existence of The Temple on "Temple Mount" extends beyond the borders of the current Nation State called Israel. Is it reasonable to think/feel/believe no other country would intervene should the Israeli government decide they were just going to start building Solomon's Temple at the site again?

Or course not ... so then we'd have to make a choice. Support a real ally, or abandon it. Our interests. Their decision.

Hope they make the right decision, eh?

Are there any who post here? Or are you taking out your Trump hatred on them? The latter would make sense and it is an easy target. But the obvious response for them is conservative judges. Note Jesus always had a grudging respect for shrewd deal makers.

    actually this is sad.

IDK the guy you reference from ... Adam ...

and perhaps “evangelical” needs to be defined properly ... and even if it is, that doesn’t mean any given person, even an “evangelical” doesn’t miss every now and again.

The focus isn’t the person ... the focus should be what is represented.

Ambassadors aren’t perfect representations of the President all of the time, but you know they represent the President when they speak. If you know the message/policy of the President, you can know whether the Ambassador has spoken/acted consistent with the President.

Just because the Ambassador misses, that doesn’t change the message/policy of the President.

So it is with a Christian “evangelical” and Jesus Christ.

I’m not offended by the error’d target of ridicule ... I know you have missed in your effort ... but your effort is regrettable because it reveals your own rejection of Jesus Christ and His (explicit) Gospel.

    keep searching, LongestHorn

    You are 100% correct.
The problem is that right now it would be the extremist muslims who have the weapons who would kill all the innocent civilians in Iraq Syria Yemen etc etc. They would go after Saudi Arabia amd mess with the oil which would have a devestating effect here in USA. They would go after Israel that I hope could defend themselves but will be costly.
Will Russia and China stay out of it? They are pretty cosy with Iran now.
    There is no east answer
But I wish for no more American deaths .

huisache, this whole situation would be so much more clear if the US didn't have multiple bases in countries who don't want us in their country, ongoing entanglements with multiple countries there, and were actually defending American citizens rather than playing Great Game politics on the other side of the world.

It just doesn't add up why more Christians don't vote for Democrats. It's a true mystery. Perhaps you should point out again that Trump cheated on his wife. That may convince them.

To be fair, there's plenty to ridicule with "Reverend Jim" and those who listen to him. The problem is that a guy like LH is perfectly happy to take "Reverend Al" and his followers seriously. Both should be ridiculed.

both should be given the attention they're due ... not much.

What's instructive is the lengths to which ridicule is made ... most often to bolster one's own lacking position. For if one is secure, ridicule is not necessary and in fact offers credibility to the ridiculed.

I'm guilty of it, too ... but that's just the way it is. Those who ridicule a given person for their "Christianity" are only validating the need for Jesus Christ whether they'll admit it or not.

so the rock chunkers will have fire breathers. That won't end well for them.

It's the iranians (persians) and nukes which are the real threat ... and will be pivotal going forward .... soon. Hopefully AFTER our planned trip to Israel, but hey .... what about that timing.

Trump is unveiling the 2 state plan. It will greatly benefit the Palis IF they can bring themselves to take advantage of it.

What oh what will the anti semites Omar and Tlaib do now that they can't say Trump hates Palestine?
