It may have all been arson (~200 arrests made)

ISIS encouraged it back in Nov, urging followers to "ignite fires" as part of an ongoing jihad against America and its allies.

How many more fires do they have to start until you start believing there’s Global Warming/Climate Change?

I read that 24 of the 200 are arson, but the majority of these 200 people are dumbasses doing dumbass things. Like throwing cigarettes out their car windows. I laughed my butt off during the drought here in Austin when a coworker complained she got a $500 fine for tossing a lit butt out her car window. She literally didnt think there was anything wrong with that "because she'd done it hundreds of times and nothing happened".

And this is one the things that hurts the credibility of climate change alarmists. If you point out an unusually cold phenomenon to question climate change, they'll smugly roll their eyes and tell you that you need to learn there difference between weather and climate. And they're right. An isolated incident of cold weather has little or no bearing on the climate.

However, if some hot weather phenomenon, fire, or anything associated with heat occurs, they scream "Climate change!!!" So to them, weather and climate aren't the same things unless it's hot. If it's hot or if a fire starts, it's indicative of climate change.

Let's also remember that the reason the fires are so bad is the same reason fires in California are so bad. Government land management law keeps the land owners from cutting back brush or making controlled burns to reduce dead/dry foliage.

These government would rather have these large fires so they can blame all of us for global warming than removing land management law so that farmers and ranches can take care of their land. Land owners have incentive to keep the land safe and usable. Governments have incentive to find excuses to control more of our lives.

W is not my favorite POTUS but I remember the criticism he took when he wanted to exactly that in the western national forests, cutting back brush and getting rid of undergrowth.

Yeah. W just agreed to let the ranchers do what they wanted and what they had done before there was a BLM.

Australian has had fires nearly this bad half a dozen times, and far worse fires twice, in the last decade. It's just that this time the fires are closer to more people than in 2003 or 1975.

Germany opening a new coal plant this year. Of course they still plan to close 15 nuclear plants needlessly. Just dumb.

Seems to be quite a bit of volcano/earthquake activity -- Puerto Rico, Philippines, Japan, Mexico, Alaska, Guatemala ... but not as much media coverage for all these combined as there was for the Australian brush fires (but even this is now mostly over too). How do we explain this?

Hard to blame a volcano on Trump.

So Mr. Thunberg is catfishing the global green movement using his minor daughter?

    What a sicko.

Gotta give the dude credit on one level. If he went out an spouted his own ********, nobody would care. He's just a dirty hippie with too much time on his hands. Furthermore, he's a dumbass, so even if someone listened to him, somebody who isn't a dumbass would just discredit him.

Obviously he was able to see these limitations in himself. However, he has a weirdo daughter with an obvious disability, and he was able to figure out that if he brainwashed her well enough, she'd be a much better advocate than he for obvious reasons. She isn't any more right than he would have been, but it's a lot harder from a PR standpoint to tell a 14 year old disabled girl that she's full of **** than it is to tell that to a grown-*** man who won't get a job. It's like Jehovah's Witnesses. It's hard to tell a dude in a religious cult to beat it if he's got a 7 year old boy with him.

The lesson is that we need a Greta Thunberg on government debt. Greta says capitalists are stealing her childhood. However, socialists are stealing hey adulthood, and that's far worse. Your childhood is only 18 years. Your adulthood is probably 50 years or more.

The EU is trying to include everyone in this dupe that is climate alarmism, otherwise known as the belief that plant food is bad.

The European Green Deal Is Every Bit as Bad as Expected | Bill Wirtz

It's all about governments taking things away from people. Even when they give, like with the investments discussed, it ultimately leads to a loss of freedom and wealth for the people.
