I talked a lot of crap about how there was no way LSU would be ready at the beginning of the year for Texas. Wow, was I wrong, that was one dominate team. They have done nothing but get better game after game. This LSU team is the first team I've seen that I feel would give 2005 Texas a run for it's money. In fact, I'm now leaning towards them being better than Texas.

They have 5 great receivers and 3 great running backs, prayers to the football gods that all of them go pro.

Dear LSU, if you are a Junior, you are wasting your time in college, jump now to the NFL, all of you, it's your time, please do it, if you don't want to listen to me, listen to your family, they need you in the NFL.

I wonder if we can petition the NFL for Stingley to go pro?

I hope our guys watched this game and are motivated to work their asses off this off season.

I believe that the two best teams this year were LSU and tOSU but of course Clemson found a way to beat the Buckeyes.

I hate it when the genius pundants get into the Greatest Of All Time discussion like the one below:

Joe Burrow, Ed Orgeron made history, won a title and changed LSU forever

Perhaps they are that good. Burrows is... But a 7-5 Texas team took them to the brink, they had a tussle with a good but not great Auburn team (23-20), and the Bama game against a hobbled Tua was certainly not dominating at 46-41.

LSU’s offense is definitely something special. Their D? Not as good as expected IMHO.

Great season. Yes. Great team. Agree. In the “best ever” discussion? Seems like we’re getting carried away.

Those “big” defensive line guys would be huffing and puffing chasing Vince after a couple of series...

7 wins vs AP top 10 including all 4 of the preseason top 4 (Clem, Bammer, Dawgs and BlowU).........hard to argue but I think the 05 Horns would give them a run for their money.

    Just barely
This was our first back-to-back final rankings since 2008-09
    AP Top 25 Poll

Oh, and you will never guess who finished just outside the top 25

Congrats to the Tigers they were best team all year and played best in the biggest games. Burrow made every pass he had to every time he had to in the big games and probably made himself 30 million more than he would have coming in to the season as a 3-4th round pick jumping up to number 1.

Makes me wonder how they’d do against USC when Pete Carroll has a month to prepare.

Would have liked to have seen the game's outcome had the refs called a push off on LSU's WR on their first TD like they did on the Clemson WR that negated their TD, also a review of LSU RB touching his hand down out of bounds, also a flag or two on the 3 or 4 obvious PIs LSU got away with early in the game when Clemson had the upper hand and could have maybe run away with it might have changed things a little....But that is the state of college football these days. It is what it is. Since it didn't involve Texas it doesn't matter, just would have liked to have seen a game where the non calls and calls weren't so obvious against one team.

Clemson ran a lot of 3-1-7 defense last night.
Begging LSU to run the ball.
So Burrow threw 49 passes for 463 yards, 5TD and 0 INT.

My favorite part of the game was when the fans booed while a Clemson got a stoppage of play for an "injury" when LSU was going no huddle and driving .

I remember lSU pulling that against us at least a half dozen times.

    Whoa, now!
You forget Texas beat a stacked USC team that could have won the Vietnam War all by themselves. ;)
I also think Clemson looked very pedestrian last night.
The Texas team that just beat Utah could have beat Clemson last night.

Congratulations to Coach O, Burrows and the team. Great season.

Hoping to find a roster today and do a little pre-scouting on what the Horns might face in Sept. in Red Baton.

I admit, I have no damn clue who OBJ is. Why the hell is he doing that? Are they seniors? Is this legal to do? Why should I care?

I hope we beat their asses in September.

No offense to some of our classier LSU friends here, but this has to be said: Posted over on game thread before I saw this one. I am generalizing and know all LSU people arent liable here, but...

I said it after our game vs them and I'll say it again...
Great season and great championship for LSU, but their fans actions, thuggish ways of players, and just the general vibe around that team...is offensive, dishonorable, and disgusting...not to mention wholly dislikable. Be proud of the accomplishment if you are LSU, because that's about all you can be proud of. It's been a while since I've been so disgusted by such lack of class, respect for others and the game, and sportsmanship. True colors showed through this season and it was an ugly sight. I'll prepare myself for more of the same next September. I grew up with family down there and always had a healthy respect for the people and the program. Not anymore. ...Shameful. #allseasonnotjustlastnight

Clemson’s advantage every season is they are the most rested Power 5 team in the country. While they might play 1 semi-to-tough OCG all season, the ACC is currently a joke. FSU and UNC might be a challenge someday.

Texas played LSU closer than Clemson.

Different teams at different times, though.

If Texas can carry forward on the defensive scheming from the Utah game and the intensity then I am very optimistic about this year's fall schedule.

You could say that. A WR diva for sure. But what he did and said both got magnified because he played for one of the NY teams. If he had been toiling away in Cincinnati or Buffalo, he would not have gotten near the same attention.

Who does he think he is? Bo Pilgrim on the floor of the Texas House?

Could it be a middle finger, 'I dare ya', to the NCAA...?
