More from the white privilege standard:

Robert Kennedy Jr: 'We've destroyed the middle class'

"... we need to make sure that we keep the middle class intact and that we don’t want the kind of country, the kind of distribution in wealth they have in Latin America and elsewhere because it causes instability. It causes unhappiness. It causes a lot of fallout, a societal fallout that is not good for anybody.”

DUDE'S a racist! He's calling out Latin America.

But it's the United States fault. The attacks on our supposed despotic Nazi government are in fact the easiest target for the activists. They know they won't be touched. They know the media will carry them forward and ensure full coverage and glory. If Trump and the oil companies were so ruthless there would be no way that oil and gas companies would be sweating their future. They ignore India, China and any 3rd world country that pollutes. They don't have the conjones to treat them with absolute contempt like they treat Trump and any white Republican.

The middle class exists and thrives when there is market freedom and limited government. Any politician saying they need to do something to protect the middle class is either completely ignorant or lying.

And this is the big failure of environmentalism. It has become a tool to righteously and sanctimoniously attack bourgeois Westerners rather than a serious concern for the environment. Americans and Europeans are falling all over themselves to get rid of plastic straws and bags (that would likely be recycled anyway), while the rest of the world capriciously dumps enormous amounts of crap into the air, the land, and the oceans. They don't give two squirts of piss about it, but your self-righteous environmentalist pays virtually no attention to them at all. It's a damn farce.

Yep. Cut carbon emissions by closing nuclear plants and opening lignite coal plants. Makes sense.

Some who have studied the history of the environmental movement have noted that it has always been an anti-industrialization, anti-human progress movement. 3rd world countries are still less industrialized and productive than Western countries. That is why environmentalists ignore them. If they even convince the West to de-industrialize they will go after the developing world.

Germans should be building new nuclear and coal plants. I think they have decent coal deposits there.

I've heard that too, but I wonder. China is a fully industrialized nation. Where are the calls for them to deindustrialize? I'm sure the fact that they are communist (sorta) and anti-West has something to do with that.

They can't do it in China, but they can do it elsewhere. Someone like Greta Thunberg could do it from Sweden, anywhere in Western Europe, or in the United States. When she largely gives them a pass, she is making a choice.

Extreme progressive Liberal heads about to explode. Greta or a woman of color economist? Both need to be believed without question. Believe the woman. Believe the climate change activists.

Dambisa Moyo: Defunding oil companies is a 'naive' way to address climate change

The Totalitarian Socialist (TM Mr. Deez) elite, bent on wealth transfer, know that the Nambian economist is correct but they are hiding behind Greta anyway because to criticize or disagree with a child is seen as bullying.

Cobalt content is being cut in half in the next generation of Li+ batteries. Nickel content is going up though. Nickel isn't great to mine either.

Plus Li+ batteries are basically grenades at this point when they fail. So safety is a problem for electrical vehicles.

We need Gen 4 nuclear and better batteries. Likely solved in 40 years.

I don't imagine St. Greta is in favor of nuclear power to make all this electricity we are going to need to achieve her dream.

The sentiment of the meme is correct. The chemicals needed to make the batteries (and solar panels, for that matter) is some nasty stuff. Nobody is talking about what are we going to do with all those batteries once the electric cars and hybrids are ready for the junkyard. There is no free lunch.

We need to let people choose the most economical energy sources that serves their needs best.

Which is why after the Greens kill fossil fuel they will kill wind and solar. They are against industry in general.

  30. 4th_floor

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Very true. Metallurgical grade silicon is used in solar panels due to the high cost to produce electronic grade silicon. Producing Metallurgical grade is still relatively expensive and nasty. A high temperature furnace (~2500 F) is required to make crude silicon, which is refined by extractions with some pretty nasty acid; a high energy and high waste product process. Expensive and not environmentally friendly.
Also consider that solar panels are way too inefficient to produce enough energy to fund the world economy. Assuming it is possible for solar to produce a significant amount of the world's energy, a high purity version of electronic grade silicon is likely needed. The additional purification requires much more energy and produces more nasty crap.
When you look at the requirements to get to where Greta says we need to be, you realize that Greta's dad is talking out of his *** when he does the ventriloquist trick to make his words come out of Greta's mouth. Pretty gross IMNSHO.
