    NOTES

    • Texas begins a two-game road swing on Saturday when it travels to Stillwater, Okla., to take on Oklahoma State. Tip-off at Gallagher-Iba Arena is slated for 1 p.m. CT and the game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
    • An Elite Club: With Wednesday's win against Kansas, Texas became just the sixth program in NCAA Division I history to reach 1,100 all-time wins. The Longhorns are 1,100-404 [.731] all-time in the program's 46-year history. The Longhorns have joined Tennessee, UConn, James Madison, Louisiana Tech and Stanford in the 1,100-win club.
    • The Series: Texas and Oklahoma State meet for the 52nd time in the history of the two programs. Texas leads the all-time series 36-15, including a 13-10 mark when the game is played in Stillwater. The Longhorns have won the last 10 meetings between the two teams, including both last year.
    • Taylor-Made: Freshman guard Celeste Taylor is the reigning Big 12 Conference Co-Freshman of the Week. Last week, she averaged 11.0 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game. She also led her squad in steals [9] and three-pointers made [5]. In the win at Kansas State last Sunday, Taylor swiped a career-high seven steals, which tied for eighth-most in school history.
    • Sophomore Success: Sophomore center Charli Collier averages a double-double on the season [one of six players in the Big 12 to do that, including Oklahoma State's Natasha Mack] with 14.0 points per game and a squad-best 10.6 rebounds per game. She has 11 double-doubles and ranks 15th nationally in rebounds per game.
    • On The Boards: Success on the boards has been a staple of Texas teams for many years. In fact the Longhorns have tied or won the rebounding battle in 130 of their last 157 games overall, including 12 of 18 games this season. The Longhorns hold a +9.7 rebounding margin, which ranks 12th nationally. Texas has reached 50 or more rebounds in six games this year.

I feel the same as I felt for most of the season. Wouldn’t be surprised if they won or lost.

Karen & Shaka two of a kind. When you have good athletes and no coaching or strategy you can win big when they get hot, lose to just about anyone when they're not.

When Charli is 3 for 3 from three point range in the first 5 minutes (and nothing else is going in), why not get her some more three point attempts?

We shouldn’t have had to come from behind but kudos to a Texas team that doesn’t give up. A road win is a good win regardless of how you win it.

A 13-2 run to finish the 4th. Just wow. :hookem:

That game was pretty miserable until the last quarter. Celeste Taylor, Sug, and Charli's threes pretty much won the game. (And Grays starting to miss.) Joyner not a great game, till that fantastic drive at the end. I didn't give us much chance at the end of the 3rd. Onto Oklahoma.

We missed a gazillion point-blank shots, but OSU only shot 1 FT (and missed); Texas making 14-17 FTs was the difference.

At the 5 minute mark, I almost turned the game off because I was tired of us getting so close to tying the game to just blow it. But then I thought to myself, "You're gonna hate it if they somehow pull this out when you gave up on them"

During the game, I kept thinking, "Damn, they pass worse then we do!"

I will say that this team doesn't "go in the tank" when they are behind 90% of the game.

Can somebody with more expertise than I explain our chronic inability to make shots at the rim. It's beyond maddening.

Just imagine if they played the whole game like that 4th quarter! Sug joined the 1,000 point club via this game- well deserved.

I have to wonder what the outcome may have been if they'd have had their best two post players available. I believe N. Mack is their leading scorer (or one of them) and leading rebounder. But... as stated earlier, a win is a win.

Interesting, the deficit may have been too big to overcome had Mack played she’s a really good player.

I give Coach Aston a lot of credit for allowing a player such as Charli the freedom to shoot three pointers and utilize her entire skill set. Going into the Ok st game she was shooting 37% from three and is probably close to 40% with the game she had yesterday which is great for any player let alone a center. I just wished KA ran a better offense.

Considering how often the announcers mentioned it, I wondered that too. But I am going to rest my hat on the fact that we have beaten them 11 times in a row.

Did we ever try to recruit Vivian Gray? What a pure shooter she is.

    Next up: :ousucks:

Pretty sure we DID recruit V. Gray. She went to a Division II school before transferring to OSU.

I rewatched the game and -as usual - realized we played better than what I had thought watching it live. Gray couldn’t miss and yet we never let them pull away too far and even then it was almost always only for a short time. We kept it close rather than getting frustrated. Funny to think 16 turnovers is a good thing but we are talking about Texas. LOL. We forced 22 on OK so it’s all in how you look at it I guess.

When have we ever been able to say we won at the line? Usually the other way around. 14 of 17. Just wow. Especially when you realized OK was 0-1. That is just crazy.

I remember Gray did the odd thing (for a 5 star forward) and went to Fort Lewis College in Colorado to play with a HS teammate. And then transferred to OSU since her older sister was already there. She was outstanding.

Her sister is who she went and played with.

She followed her older sister to Fort Lewis. That school then eliminated the sport, I believe. They were looking for a school which had scholarships for both of them, and selected OSU.

I just lover her game. She never left the floor, stays out of foul trouble, plays hard, outstanding free throw shooter, and her mid-range game is my favorite. Was bummed we didn't get her.
