Big swing today in CBs for Umanmielen to BU ..not real suprising. Unless we get a surprise on Rakestraw, looking more and more like Collins, Dixon and...maybe one surprise signee ...we will see. Would be great to get the Michigan transfer at WR, and we really need to add another solid CB...like...real talk. Or it'll be like DBWHO?!??
As far as I can tell: Ennis Rakestraw announces at 8 a.m. Princely Umanmielen is at 2 p.m. Alfred Collins is at 3:50 p.m. Gonna be a loonnggg day.
A good recruit for Texas. If he is as dedicated as his brother is Texas has another great influence on the team. A simply great signing for the program.
Dixon is a big get for us. He’s an explosive playmaker with track star speed (sub 11 second 100m). His videos show short range acceleration that is even more impressive than his top end speed. He will stretch the field, and turn short passes into long gains. His on-field athleticism is equivalent to (or at least in the same ballpark as) that of Mookie, Ty Jordan, and Jahari Rogers—maybe better than Jahari Rogers. Great pick up, and good job staff!
He developed a good relationship with their coaches, liked them Misery was on him pretty early, we were not, like several other teams
Well, ultimately no loss if a guy does not want to play for Texas and get a degree from UT. Why the good coaches tell the recruits to pledge the University first.
Additional factor for Rakestraw may be number of CBs on Missouri roster compared to Alabama or Texas. Better chance of significant playing time early at Mizzou.
I think we needed another CB in this class And you can tell we are hard on a pack of 2021 DBs already. With several guys graduating, we have an easy sell for PT
Exactly, but Texas has to get the ones that want to play and hopefully graduate from Texas. Too many of these guys are drinking the NFL-is-next-for-me Kool-aid. It is no good for even a gifted player to go to the NFL stupid as it is a cutthroat business.
Don't forget...we added a 17th signee the day after early signing....Jaylon Ford LB switch from Utah. ...So now at 18 not counting walk-ons.
I noticed Rakestraw was pretty emotional, even cried during his announcement. Most often our subconscious mind knows even before we "realize" we are making a mistake.
Updated current class rankings via 247: No. 1 Georgia No. 2 Alabama No. 3 Clemson No. 4 LSU No. 5 Ohio State No. 6 Texas A&M No. 7 Auburn No. 8 Florida No. 9 Texas No. 10 Oklahoma
TCU has a good WR recruiter. Rmbr they also got high 4-star Quentin Johnson from us (but with him, that was mostly on Coach Meh)
I was wondering why Texas was not on him after watching the Dixon highlights. I suspected academics. Time to tutor and then coach him up.
I get the feeling Princely really wants to be "the man" and thinks he'll be a bigger fish at BU. Their fish pond isn't as impressive as ours, so this is probably true.
