    SMH ...
That is a real favorable schedule. Baylor, KSU and OSU at home and nothing on the front-end...aggy-ish.
    I see only 1 or 2 max...
Us and either ISU or TCU

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Don't see any obvious loses on that list, but suspect they will struggle with at least 1 or 2 of those games... hopefully vs. the Horns and remember they lost @ KSU last year.

I only see a handful of teams that could give them a game... UT, Bailor, @ ISU, KSU, @ TCU... maybe Okie Lite - sometimes the pokes play ou tougher in Norman than they do in Stoolwater.

Apparently Riley is sold on the Rattler too. As far as I saw, he did not make a run at a transfer QB. So that's a little concerning

Bizarre UGA has had all those top 5 recruiting classes in a row and they get only #11?

Riley is totally bought in to his #1 in class QB pick. Does not want to rock that boat at all.

In some areas we are more talented, but they have a huge advantage in several positions. Biggest key is that we are bringing back a QB that they couldn't stop last year. They have a lot of talented receivers and backs. They have by far the better secondary, I think we have the better offensive line I would say the dline is a push. I'm pretty sure they have the better linebackers.

They have had the better coaching staff and it shows in player development, hopefully that will change this off season. LSU is going into 2020 a much younger team than they were last year, and on the flip side we are going in with a lot of experience. Hopefully this will matter.

To me, based on returning talent and talent in key positions, it should be no contest...in our favor. (BTW, I disagree about the secondary assessment.)

I may lower my expectations by September but from what I can see now, we should win the game in BR, and easily.

You don't really think we have much more talent than LSU and we should win easily do you?

Stingley is one guy, but he might be the best corner I've seen in a very long time. I watched a lot of LSU last year and that kid was on a whole other level, he was a blanket on whoever he covered. Don't forget they also bring back Kary Vincent and now they have another impact freshmen corner in Elias Ricks.

We on the other hand have great safeties but a lot of question marks at Corner. That is not good when you have to cover the LSU receivers.

I know we have had some good recruiting classes, but LSU hasn't had any bad ones. Their defense is going to reload just like every other big time program.

We have a very good offensive line going against a very good LSU defensive line. They have a very inexperienced offensive line going against a very good Texas defensive line. We should have an advantage there.

We have a difference maker QB, they have from what I can tell is a very good QB, but not Joe Burrow good. (hopefully)

Everything else from this point forward is about development, can Texas take the next step forward and make performance meet the talent we have accumulated.

Horns have a good shot to win the game but at this early point I am more pessimistic than optimistic. If the Horns win, I don't think they do so easily. Death Valley is a tough place to play.... if the Horns win, I suspect it will only be by a few points.

If Texas wins, it will look like the game we played against USC a couple years back.

I think we will lean more on our running game because LSU is going to come into that game with a healthy level of respect for Sam and a lack of respect for our running backs.

Defensively we need to get to their QB quick and stay on him all day, he has some receivers that we just can't cover. I'm not sure how good their RBs are going to be, but they have some talent back there.

FWIW, I tend to want to compare last year’s game to this year’s.

The talent difference in Austin was significant, particularly comparing their experienced D to ours. But even with that disparity and armed with a Heisman caliber QB, they were a third and 17 away from very possibly losing the game.

LSU’s 2020 team just cannot compare, yet, to the team we played in 2019. Ours on the other hand lost very little on D and mostly two talented receivers on offense. We will go into BR with few if any holes, and some explosive opportunities with Bijan, an experienced RJ, a healthy JW and a repositioned/unleashed Ossai. Not to mention Sam. So for 2020 we should have a talent advantage, which I believe to be big.

Herman really needs to win in BR. If he can’t, this year, one will have to wonder if he will ever be able to get it done.

You seem to be using talent and experience as interchangeable terms. LSU's talent level will probably be very comparable this year to last year's team; but that talent will be much less experienced. Texas will be much more experienced than last year, and also more talented overall as Herman continues to bring in top notch recruiting classes. For sure Texas will have closed the talent gap with LSU, maybe caught up to them, in terms of the overall roster.

Don't want to be the grammar police, but thought it's a valid distinction made by others in this thread about talent vs experience.

It’s a good point and I might have been ambiguous. As an example, we had plenty of “talent” in our secondary last year. Simply, we lacked experience. That won’t be the case in this year’s game.

Yes LSU will have talented athletes but, for the most part, inexperienced. The drop off in experience is big and losing Burrow brings them crashing back down to earth. We upgraded in experience they downgraded. This is why we will win. The unknown is our new coaching staff and Herman who has definitely not been Mensa on occasion. But I believe we overcome that. Looking forward to the rematch.

Unfortunately, most of the talent ended up spending considerable time off the field due to injuries.

I don't think losing Burrow makes them "crash." They still have Myles Brennan, who was supposed to start had Burrow not transferred. And I don't expect losing Brady is all that big a deal now that they understand what it took to make that offense click. Oh, and they still have Chase, who dominates.

That 2017 loss to Troy at home is a distant memory after winning a title. While I doubt LSU will win the title again next year, a huge dropoff doesn't seem likely.

Well, there is the defense to consider, also.
Lots of new faces for LSU and some really good returning ones.

Well I respectfully disagree. Burrow was a once in a generation type guy like VY. I believe LSU is good but they are a bit overrated at this point. We shall see.

    Salt in the Kool-Aid.....
OU's schedule is pretty easy.... No losses going into the RRR.
If Texas loses to LSU we lose to OU too. The only chance the Big 12 has at the play-offs is an undefeated Champion. After OU's four failures the committtee will not take another one loss Big 12 team. The refs will make sure an undefeated team wins the RRR game.

Well if we are talking conspiracy then it's a good thing we will have Big 12 officials at the swamp when we face LSU.

all this kool aid is dependent on sam staying healthy and I say that is a big if because he likes to run and coach likes to let him. An injury there and we could go 6-6.

I like the ranking that puts Cal in the top 25. They looked good the first few games . of the year last year and then their qb got hurt and they sank like a stone. At the end he came back and they looked good again. Same with us and Sam. He needs to stay healthy.

Unless we get Mike Defee, it's a disaster because all those other incompetents will be auditioning hoping for an SEC spot. I will bet you an El Patio #3 that Walleye assigns the Arizona midget.

Hey, I would take that bet just to be able to buy you a #3 at El Patio. Been about 25 years, so I need to go back. El Azteca and Pinch-a-Pollo were my haunts in the old days.
