I guess that makes sense--it is their ag school. Hornfans has let me down on knowing the history of aggie slurs.
A long time ago, we sat up late one night killing several bottles of scotch naming the various cow colleges, like the cotton aggies, tobacco aggies, wheat aggies. We have since changed Colorado State from the Mountain Aggies to the Granola Aggies at the insistence of some of our graduates from the Petroleum Engineering Dept.
Shaka doesn't get paid millions to sneak into the tourney. Unless he goes to Sweet 16, he should be canned.
I heard the Snook Bluejays are looking for someone to return them to their glory days of Calvin Gehrke & Donnie Kovar
Watching this team win (as a team) over the last 5 games has been a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to Saturday's game.
Huge win last night!! We are a home win away from tying (at worst) for 3rd in the Conference and reaching 20 wins. And as nice as that win was, is there anything better than crushing the souls of the BlowU fans and their endless displays of horns-down?? I'll bet Doolitle's dad - aka Whistlin' Ray of Norman - has a nice video of his son clanking 2 clutch free throws and Coleman's game winning shot! I like Franschilla calling out the refs last night - they missed a bunch of calls (both ways). It was ridiculous that we hadn't shot a free-throw until that technical call late in the game.
"I looked at Royce (Hamm) and said, ‘Royce, I’m about to win this,’” Coleman said. Texas 52, Oklahoma 51: A stunning game-winner for a stampeding bunch of Longhorns | Hookem.com
Highlights Quick Version with Locker Room Celebration: A very happy "lost" team. Longer Version Highlights:
Many say Texas is in now. More say one more win at 20-11 Texas is in. Most say with a 20-11 season and one tourney win, definitely in.
I’m going to disagree on the Shaka part. While it was great to rip out the hearts of the dirt burglars one has to admit it was an extremely lucky shot that banked in from three. Prior to that, the deficiencies of Shaka’s coaching ability in the last two minutes of a close game were on full display. Timeouts to presumably draw up plays and we got ————- nothing, Coleman going one on five with very little hope of success. Only the uncharacteristic miss of free throws opened the door. I submit that while the streak is fun, it is fool’s gold, and is happening only because Shaka is forced to play a mix of players he as coach would never do if he had his choice and I think that he doesn’t really have any idea why it is working (or he would have come up with it before now). I think that Cunningham has been the key “glue guy” to the streak, efficient on offense, disruptive on defense, and relentlessly around the 50-50 balls and generally stays in his role. Cunningham’s impact would not be felt at all playing 5-7 minutes a game but has a cumulative effect over 20 minutes or so. The conference is really down this year, but sneaking in to a third seed is good but not as impressive as it might have been in other years. Congratulations to the Horns on this game and the streak, but Smart has proved over his tenure that he needs to coach elsewhere. Just like Shooter’s son in Hoosiers, this thing the team is doing with Smart, I’m just not seeing it.
Yet it is happening. If they beat OSU with their 7 player practice squad, they will be the #3 seed in the B12 Conference Tournament. Chew on that awhile if it happens.
If Tech beats KU at home and we beat OSU on Saturday, we'll tie for 3rd. How is the seeding determined?
