    Re: Politics and sports

It is my experience that those who think politically in every conversation are too far gone to take seriously. They have become consumed by an emotional hang-up.

o.o we all live by it on here. we try not to bring politics into the sports boards on here. there may be other boards where mixing is cool for "guy talk" but i think we've done a good job on here to not divide us on the topic we're completely united about, Longhorn Sports.

Dion isn't picking on you. that is the standard here. we all abide by it, and stand corrected when we forget. it's not personal.

    RE: WTF?

Bringing Trump into a sports discussion is a clear sign that you need to get off-line for a while.

    A: Back to sports
    B: Yep, back to sports
C: Ok but let me get the last political word in first, THEN we can all get back to sports...

So to actually get back to sports:

Our winning streak, while it started out with "we played the crappy teams", ended with a couple of impressive victories. Then we follow it up with a blowout loss at home to a crappy team.

So which is more accurately a reflection of us? The wins vs Tech/OU? Or the loss to OSU? I think the latter for two reasons.

1 - Over the previous few years we'll find a lot more examples of the latter than the former.

2 - The timing is exactly what we'd expect from a group that doesn't have what they need to be successful in the long. When you get on run of successes where you just need ONE more success at the end, and it's an easier task than the ones you already succeeded at, but then that's the one that becomes a disaster .... that's usually a microcosm of something bigger.
