He's an idoit. I know you know that.

He thumbs his nose at Trump and the Feds on ICE, etc. Runs his state into being broke. Comes crying like a whiny *** titty baby to the Feds for help when his policies make the state unable to fend for itself.

    He will probably be re-elected.

    Hi C
But maybe you should get tested
If only for your peace of mind?

No fever, aches, etc. Doubt they would test me for loss of smell. I'm 51, in good shape. Not worried. Plus, unless I get so bad off I can't breathe, I can't really do anything different than I'm already doing.

    Thanks. :beertoast:

OK. If the drug (used for lupus) works, and an Israeli company has millions of doses ready to ship, why hasn’t it arrived?

Can you say “ big pharma”, boys and girls?

Lt. Gov. is a Saint. We are fortunate to walk in his shadow.

Garmel sounds like a great detective. Why can't I celebrate the brilliance of an elected official without grief and/or banning?

I heard the drug isn’t approved in Texas.

Probably not or anywhere else for that matter until it is manufactured by a "favorite"

Who said anything about a banning? Do you have a guilty conscience or something?

Apparently the problem is that these pills are cheap - too cheap for big pharma to make a buck from it.

Thank you, MC. That information was brought to you by the same people that own the whores at MD Anderson.

One could ALSO make a point about where were the hospital administrators and various Governors on properly equipping medical facilities PRIOR to a large-scale event having to occur.

At SOME point, local governments HAVE to accept the responsibility for their own failures. Instead, what we see is that they want to suckle at the government teet JUST as much as the people who cannot be bothered to save for an any manner of emergency.

That being said...yes, they DEFINITELY need to quit encouraging the thumb-sucking and boot-quaking over 'global warming.'

State governments didn't restrict travel from know viral hot spots. Hospitals didn't prepare more beds and ventilators. The FDA actually kept states, cities, and hospitals from preparing by restricting testing, beds, ventilators, and medicines.

There is NOTHING that would have precluded a hospital from purchasing ventilators PRIOR to all of this nonsense and thumb-sucking. This is the hospital equivalent of someone who wants to bake a cake and realizes, after having mixed all of the ingredients, that they lack an oven. Idiots in charge failed to properly equip their facilities.

But if you only need one or two ovens most of the time, you probably wouldn't install ten.

Hospitals are big business. For the once in a lifetime respiratory virus like this, tying up big $$ on the shelves for what would very likely normally be unused ventilators would likely get the person who bought them a quick exit.

I can barely taste my coffee this morning! Haven't had any flavor whatsoever since Tuesday.

Still no fever, chills, aches, any of the other CV symptoms.

Reimbursement caused hospitals and nursing homes to limit the number of ventilators. Hospitals were sending ventilator patients 1000 miles for a ventilator.

To further the analogy above, you don't buy ovens that result in a cost of product being $100 if the market will only buy your product for $5 and then for only a limited amount of time.

We looked into this business several years ago. Interestingly enough, all the female patients were over 70 and former smokers; all the male patients were in their 20s and had wrecked their motorcycles.

Ventilators are going to be like mobile homes were during the hurricanes. FEMA will never get them where they need to be and the government will own several thousand that sit in warehouses for decades. Use your political influence to contract for the storage. You'll pay for your real estate, the warehouse and collect overpriced rent for decades.

Get you a flight to NOLA, a jug of good coonass coffee - you'll definitely taste it

BTW, my SWA FA friend came by last night. Six leg trip, with the high count of 11, low of 2.

I'm drinking whole bean Dark Roast Community brewed in a Bialetti. Hard to get much stronger than that.

When we tried to buy the company, it was Texas Coffee Company on RailRoad Ave. Little bitty place with a huge cashflow.
