'06 Rose Bowl -- ESPN tomorrow (Thursday) at 8:00 PM eastern.

I hear that the Matt Leinart / Reggie Bush duo is unstoppable, but I like our chances!

    Hook 'Em!

Can't beat a Pete Carrol team with 30 days to prepare.

LHN has been showing some deep cuts lately. The 2004 OK State comeback, the last SWC game, etc.

Per Herbie they would run right through all those Army teams of the 40’s and OU greats of the 50’s. I wonder if Texas can stay in this through halftime?

ESPN has already decided the outcome, guys. Find something else to do.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Watched it again last eve, for the 47th time since 2006.

Always hoping Pino makes the missed extra point & the 31 yard FG, plus no Kilibrew PF - late hit on Leinart or T. Brown breaking his arm parts....

Oh well, it's all "water under the dam" now.

Maybe I should know / remember but whatever happened to WR Billy Pittman?

He hurt his ankle, foot vs. USC late in the game. Seems like he came back the following season but after that I don't remember much.

Oh man, these guys would blow out 1997 Nebraska, so how are we ever gonna have a chance?

So, one of the benefits of working from home office is I can keep the TV on LHN with the sound down while I work via laptop. No Covid19 news today - I need a break.

Earlier I watched 2005 ou & aggy games and am now watching the Horns dismantle Joel Klatt & Colorado in the Big XII Championship: now 42-3 at the half. I believe the final will be 70-3 and it wasn't that close!!!

Serious question: have the Horns ever had a better OL than: Scott, Allen, Sendlein, Studdard & Blalock?

Throw in Thomas at TE. Best TE in UT history.

34 of 44 starters in that game went on to play in NFL, 17 were drafted that year alone. Ridiculous talent on both teams and that second half was unbelievable. best game, best sporting event, best finish to any game I ever attended.

Does anyone have a photo of the "wrong scoreboard" after the last play? I was too stunned to grab on the camera and it was only up a very short second or two before being corrected.

Never get tired of watching this game. Now - we need to see the Horns win another national championship so we can drool over another replay!

I too remember that wrong scoreboard. A photo of it has appeared on HF before. Suspect someone still has it....

The Rose Bowl remains the worst run major facility I've ever been in.

It is, however, safer than Joe Robbie when the convicts played there, and it wasn't safe to go to the restrooms.

Watching the game for the umpteenth time, it still blows me away that both teams had so many wasted opportunities to really take control of the game, and then something would happen in the next series to put the game back right back at even.

Horns were largely successful keeping Reggie Bush in check. However, Carroll saw aggy run Javorskie Layne between the OT's successfully vs. the Horns in 2005. He had plenty of plays with Lendale White up the gut and off tackle that worked well with Leinart's passing.

The scoreboard was behind us. I turned around right after the play and saw the wrong message on the scoreboard. By the time I could calm my son down enough to look at the scoreboard they had made the correction.

It was the "Congratulations to the University of Southern California Trojans 2005 National Champions" that I wanted.
The jumbotron/scoreboard was to my left. I had reached down to grab my camera, and caught it out of the corner of my eye, because we were up high about the 35

Well Leinhart still thinks the better team didn't win. What a classy dick.

That's why they play the game on the field. I don't necessarily disagree with Leinart. He's just a dick. A couple of inches difference on Bush's lateral, the pick at the goal line, and White failing on 4th and short, and it could have easily been a blowout in the other direction.

Yes, but the game could have been much different if Ross, I think, doesn't fumble the 1st punt after the D shut them down.

The pick by Griffin at the goal line would be indicative of Texas being the better team and refuting Lyingart's contention of who was better.

ESPN needs a program with Leinhart & Brian Jones debating which was the better team. I could mute the TV and take a nice nap.

Leinart IS a dick and a sore loser. Why not blame the mighty Trojan D... your team had a 12 point lead with 6:12 min. left or something close to that. Your TEAM, let Vince and the boys score 15 friggin' points!!!

White didn't make 4th and 2 because Texas knew what Carrol was going to run with Bush out of the game and was prepared for the play.

Texas defense was set up for Bush to go wide. Brian recognized the formation and play call, broke his assignment by going inside instead of outside. He grabbed White's feet long enough for the calvary to arrive.
