It is too late to start drinking, but if this is true, I can be drunk before midnight and stay that way until the virus thing is over.

Hard to believe a liberal arts school with no engineering school would hire an engineer as president. But then, Davidson tried to hire a PhD in Finance.

"Carmel and I will always remember the people and our experiences at UT. We will still have our family and many friends in Austin and Texas and plan to visit frequently. We look forward to speaking with as many of you as possible during the next three months."
Please tape and post your conversation with him. We all need a lift these days.

How much of a pay cut will he take?

I am talking to Jack Cakebread's family reserving a case of Rubaiyat, which I intend to stand in the middle of the Sabine River Bridge, open, and consume as the moving truck goes by

I read Emory offered him more money -- $750,000 vs. 900,000 from Emory

Maybe they had some Confederate statues they needed to be taken down and their ancestors admonished.

Seems like Emory would be an easier job than here.

Emory only has about 14 or 15 thousand undergrad and 8 thousand grad students. UT has something like 52 or more thousand combined students. Seems like a nice chunk of money for less work.

Ding dong, the witch is gone! He was the worst and one of the most corrupt presidents in the history of the University. He wasted more money with bad decisions causing unnecessary litigation and continued to expand the already bloated administration at the expense of students (unreasonable tuition), their families (unreasonable tuition) and professors (cutting courses/TAs/other jobs).
