Here was 6'6 Epps last season vs. a 5'8 LA Tech CB
Should probably be noted, he is a pretty good corner who will probably get drafted.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

There may have been other praise worthy articles about Yurich that I have not read, but that is the most interesting and impressive I have read, so far.

The future of the Horns O looks very bright with this guy, if we can get through the damn pandemic and have a 2020 season!!!

    Whoa....now there's a name.
True story...I took a visit there while in school and played volleyball with a group of people including one who really thought he was Moses....The Moses.

If Epps doesnt find a position on offense and succeed either he or we have failed miserably. Look at him....
I cannot figure out why he won't make a beast of a tight end.

Again, I have high hopes for TO and expect he can excel at a couple different positions. I'm no expert, but he looks like he'd be hell as a strong safety (whatever they call that these days lol).

He has good hands. But as that clip shows, he lacks physicality or toughness or however you want to describe it. He should be a TE but doesn't want to play TE. Not to mention its a position that requires a lot of blocking, esp on a Herman team. Given all that, how likely is it that he will stick somewhere on defense? Conclusion - the shift to D was a polite suggestion.

Well there's the problem....He apparently doesn't want to accept the natural position his skill set/body/ability will support.
I think, with an attitude adjustment, he has great potential as a tight end...part of that attitude adjustment would have to be an acceptance of and hunger for greater physicality, of course. I wouldn't completely throw in the towel yet on him as a WR..he's had small flashes...but, if I were him, I think I'd embrace a role as a TE if I was eying any real future potential in football. I suppose if the football is virtual and not real life he may be able to "play" whatever position he chooses, so ...
Anyway, who am I....his life...I'm just an average...Joe Fan.

Only option which may make sense now. Fall for Spring practice and conditioning. Spring for the season without Early enrollees. Summer with Spring practice camp then Fall 2021 season with early enrollees.

Too much speed not to be a safety.

I will give Epps some more credit for being in the right position to screen defensive players from the ball carrier as the season progressed. He became an effective screener which is as good as a block.

I will also note in his defense that since he is so much taller than defensive players it is probably very difficult for him to get low enough to block them without likely receiving a targeting penalty for contacting the other players head or neck first. Any push off by him will be obvious also as the defender will suddenly be 6' away from Epps.

Lewis flunked out of the school, so he's doing community college classes right now. I think the understanding is that if he passes, he can come back. My guess is that's 50/50 right now.

    Kenyatta Watson now wearing #2.
    Derrian Brown looks good.
    Jerrin Thompson is on campus.
    Bimage up to 270 lbs!
I think Owens has actually lost weight... he looked bigger than 215-220 last year.
I'd be surprised if Broughton wasn't immediately Top-3 at DT.
Hookfin looks bigger... they featured him on that video from the athletics department, so I think he'll play a nice role this year.
Parr & Majors both on campus and probably penciled in as primary backups.
Coburn at 350 lbs. Not sure if that's on purpose.

Going to be rough on the cold weather schools (Big10 for example). And DIII schools like North Dakota will be looking at -20 degree kickoffs

Is there enough time to recover for Fall 2021?

I could see guys who already think they will be drafted high, just sitting out the season (like some do with bowl games now)

Unless he is a total impact player I would be very disappointed because it would mean that some of the guys like Ojomo and Sweat have not developed as they should have.

With that said, I'm pretty confident that Sweat and Ojomo will be second team with Broughton likely getting reps at DE before he is finally moving to DT.

There's no disappointment in Broughton being in a rotation with the 1st/2nd teamers. He's the highest-rated DT out of HS we've acquired, including Coburn. I don't see it as unseating Sweat/Ojomo... it'll be sharing snaps and if that means they enter the portal because of PT, we're still in good shape.

I know he played a lot of DE in HS when he was smaller. I don't see it at Texas.

If Texas was still running a 3-4 alignment, I would say he definitely would play DE, now that Texas is moving to a 4 man front, I'm guessing that isn't the case. However, depending on his weight we still might get a year out of him at DE. However, you are right his ultimate position is going to be at DT. Texas has had such stellar DT recruiting, it wouldn't surprise me that he doesn't get to start until his junior year. As of now, I'd probably list Coburn and Graham as our starters at DT with Sweat and Ojomo as the primary backups. The good news is even at 3rd string he will play a bunch of snaps in every game.

As far as Dlinemen goes Collins is the better of the two between him and Broughton. he is also destined to be a DT, but again, I'm hoping we can get one year out of him as a DE before he completely out grows the position.

Love this quote from Alfred Collins in regards to his current regimen while not with the team:

“Somebody from Oklahoma could be working out right now and I don’t want to let them outwork me.”

But Owens is beyond fast. Second in UIL 100M in 10.2. That is blazing speed in a football player.

Travel to warmer climates for Northern teams may well be necessary. P5 teams may have to relocate to indoor venues where available. Lack of widely available COVID-19 vaccine might torpedo any salvation of the 2020 season.
