This kid has incredible heart and character. Chokes me up to read that from her. She is a shining light.
Why doesn't UTWheels like that Celeste staying. I wonder if Karen Aston is using the pseudonym UTWheels?
Super stoked Celeste is staying. Appreciate her statement of loyalty to her commitment. This is a really good kid—parents instilled true values in her—and a genuine competitor. Sure we’re all excited to see how things pan out with current and incoming players. Doing a little twitter research (if tweets mean anything, certainly aren’t carved in stone—AND keeping in mind that there are bigger things on people’s’ minds these days), most of the returning players have shared the announcement of Vic’s hiring. Joyner did as well. And the news was likewise shared or liked by the incoming 2020 recruits (or their parents), except for, at this point, one player (Benzan). Ashley’s mom: Shay’s dad: It feels like Christmas for Texas WBB. Ecstatic about the possibilities of the program’s future again. That’s a nice feeling. Be well all.
Missed related discussion in 2020 Recruits thread. That thread does not show up in my list of forum threads—always have to search for it.
Wow! I can't stop saying it. Celeste is a pure gem. I often thought she was the primary tone-setter on the team this year with her energy and steadfastness. Probably the most consistent player on the team. Mature and wise beyond her years. UT didn't have a great season this year, but I shudder to think how much worse it would've been without Celeste.
Looking up some of the recent transfers, still boggles my mind that ESPN dropped Celeste to #40 in their final rankings of the 2019 class. Absurd.
thats an L for them because a top 10-15 player in that class based off of what she has done her freshman season. What was her ranking before they dropped her to 40?
They have done the same thing with Ashley Chevalier. She went from 52 to 86 so hopefully she does the same thing as Celeste Taylor which is prove them wrong.
Well said...she will be even MORE of a force to be reckoned with this year...hope she is able to get some good conditioning in while apart from UT!!
That is fascinating. It looks like the family converted the living room into an indoor mini-court. I wonder if my wife will go for it.
I was gonna say, this kinda makes my parents look silly for always telling me no playing ball in the house.
I'm like, why's there televisions in the gym? It's not. It's a living room with a basketball goal and line markings in the living room. If I were single, I'd do it. Just move the furniture back into the living room when done practicing. That is awesome.
