The fact that the virus can be traced to New York doesn't mean it was seeded by a New Yorker traveling to Wyoming. I suspect it is much more common for a Wyomingite (I had to look that up, lol) to bring the virus back after traveling to New York. There would also be cases where a Wyomingite connected through a NY airport, or where the virus passed through one or more intermediary states and ultimately worked its way to Wyoming.
I hope you are right, and there certainly is evidence to support that. But there is also a gap in our understanding of why and when the virus will take hold in a community and spread like wildfire. It took 2+ months for the epidemic to really get going in New York, and nobody knows why. This leaves open the possibility that the same can happen elsewhere. One thing that particularly concerns me is the possibility that the same conditions have arisen elsewhere, and that major spread has been averted by the precautions we are taking. If we stop this, are we asking for trouble? I honestly don't know, but the experience in NY/NJ/CN is that precautions don't work if you take them too late.
Why? You think the odds of a tourist getting it are greater than some hedge fund manager with property there, and the means to private jet his way out of NY whenever he wants?
Am I the only one around here who doesn't give a crap about the NY metro area and what happens there? They make their beds with the "leaders" they elect.
I don't feel that way. Like I said before they are arrogant yankees but they are our arrogant yankees.
This NYT graph goes to how New Yorkers spread the virus all about the USA In neighborhoods of the top 1% in income in NYC, more than 1/3 of residents left town. In the neighborhoods of the bottom 80%, only 7% left. (NYT)
Remember they are the same fools who want to abolish the electoral college because their voice should be louder than other states.
Janice Dean March 25th: YOU @NYGovCuomo made an executive order requiring nursing homes accept coronavirus patients. That accelerated outbreaks like wildfire and killed our loved ones. We still don’t know the exact number of cases. YOU have a catastrophe on your hands. https://twitter.com/NYGovCuomo/status/1259517771815190530 … Any nursing home that fails to follow health procedures will lose their license. Remember: If a nursing home cannot provide adequate care, they MUST call the State Department of Health to transfer the resident. PS glad you were able to zoom your mom on Mother’s Day. My husband couldn’t. He lost his mom and dad to COVID in assisted living and nursing homes. https://www.mediaite.com/tv/andrew-cuomo-uses-coronavirus-press-conference-to-hold-family-zoom-call-to-wish-his-mom-happy-mothers-day/ …
I was just listening to a podcast talking about Cuomo admitting COVID patients into nursing homes. That borders on criminal. Anyone who was being honest with themselves knew nursing homes were the most dangerous place to introduce the virus into. That is active abuse of power.
So The Navy ship, the Javits center. the Good Samaritan facility and now this Brooklyn center were not used or barely used? Wonder how many in nursing facilities would have been saved if Cuomo had sent covid patients to one of those facilities instead of into vulnerable nursing homes. Criminal.
I've come to the conclusion that Liberals don't care about reality, all they care about is winning. This is why they say they don't care what Biden does or did in the past as long as he wins. Some democrats would vote for him if he was caught on tape killing children with a butcher knife. Probably call it pro choice and pat him on the back. It tells me one thing, this country is much more mentally sick than anyone could have guessed.
Despite the larger population, Florida's has just 2,934 coronavirus deaths compared to New York's 30,911 deaths. Yet leftist New Yorkers keep calling the Florida governor a 'murderer.' Makes no sense
