Yeah, and those 3 consecutive bowl victories were appalling too!

Yeah, when one is drinking the other team's Kool-Aid, things look bleak right away.

I for one am not thinking the 9 years before Herman would be an improvement.

Imagine how much better Texas would be with a more knowledgeable fan base.

I have to think someone minimized Hand's preparation as that game's line play was unfathomably confused on some passing downs and a singular aberration that year. On straight-up blocking while running up the middle they were dominating. Then Beck or whoever inexplicably abandoned that and returned to those obvious bubble screens to Ingram.

Look at the Utah game against a heavy highly ranked DL with a top3 rated run defense. Look at the UGA game against perhaps the best DL in college football that year.

Imagine how much better Texas would be fans who have reading comprehension skills above 2nd grade level.

Sabre hit the nail on the head with post #2419. I suggest you read it since you haven't or are incapable of understanding.

Vol Horn 4 Life Good Bye To All The Rest!

I have multiple detailed posts starting from before he coached a day on campus. Orlando's history is that his defenses are annually worse year after year from the first one. He always has one good year and it's down from there especially in passing D. It's not like he's only been coaching a couple of years, he has a detailed history. I wasn't worried at all about him being poached. Quite frankly I was hoping for it.

More on Fidone from Roach. He is the #2 TE overall and #1 in his state per the Comp

" ..... The four-star tight end from Council Bluffs (IA) Lewis Central just recently received a Texas offer, but he’s been talking with the staff for a while. Despite Texas entering the race late, Fidone said he has interest in the Longhorns.

“I’m very interested,” Fidone said. “Me and coach (Boulware) have been in contact for a while actually. I like how they would use me in the offense and yes, I’m far along but I am still open and looking to check out places to find the best fit for me.”

Fidone held over 30 offers before Texas entered the race. He said the offer from Texas stood out to him because of their tradition and coaching staff.

“It means a ton,” he said. “Texas has a great head coach and he’s won a lot of games in the first three years. They also have coach Boulware who also has a great track record.”

Texas tight ends coach Jay Boulware has been the coach in communication with Fidone. In their short time together, Fidone said he likes what he hears from Boulware.

“From the times we have talked, he seems like an awesome guy,” Fidone said. “He wants me as a big receiver. He has a good record with his previous players and develops them well.”

And another 2021 OL we supposed to be looking at
We are starting to get pretty far away now from the Brockermeyers and Byrds of the world

I feel much better about a three star that Patterson wants, than a three star we are battling a bunch of bottom feeders for.

Maybe my dumbest comment ever... I doubt it. Could the struggle in O-line recruiting possibly have something to do with who is already on campus and ready to start playing as redshirt sophmores and freshman? Of course this is completely invalid when the conversation involves Alabama.

I dont think players at the level of Brockermeyer, Jackson or Byrd are afraid of our depth chart. Or anyone else's either, even Bama's.

how is clemson under us? my perception is that they kill it on 5* then fill in the rest with high 3*, low 4*.

yeah. i guess when it's "how many 4* and 5* do you have? having four 5* every year isn't a high percentage of the class. but having six 5* on the field at any one time sure does look good in the games.

    4th_floor Dude, where's my laptop?

Maybe this kid could play tight end. He might be a monster if he has a little speed and hands.

That program does have a system. Sometimes, you hire a coach and leave him alone for awhile, good things can happen.

Hard to imagine a center that size having any leverage.
He must really enjoy football more than bball.

Eyes of Texas is Racist? Gabriel, maybe? Athletes do not have to sing it? Well are they required now?

If they have a new song, seems like they would be proud enough to sing it, right? Getting a little fuzzy here.

Inner city reach outs perhaps should include El Paso too? Maybe Laredo, Brownsville, Lubbock, Amarillo, certainly Orange and Port Arthur, and Texarkana? Tyler and Waco? Killeen? Longview, Huntsville? Foat Wuth? Collie Station? Norman really needs one.

The rest is certainly reasonable or at the minimum discussable. Quite frankly, one cannot deny the validity of the impetus. If I were a minority at UT when I attended, I would have felt like a stranger in a strange land.

Definitely Julius Whittier deserves recognition as an Alumna. Maybe call the Box Levels the Whittier Levels? Seems appropriate. A Whittier student section between the 30-40 on the lower deck W side like the old days would be cool too.
