When Will Life Return to Normal?

I don't know where or how accurate this information is but the recent events with Covid and the political unrest and an election, this graphic does not bode well for college sports/football. Kneeling down during the National Anthem or taking the Eyes of Texas, just shoot me.

 

The graph shows the likelihood of attending games in person, not whether the season will happen. And these predictions fluctuate daily. Football will be played this fall. It’s just a matter of how.

 

I think some College Football will be played by some colleges. I do not think all sports will be played, they lose money already and under attended or non attended college football (much less non attended college) will simply collapse many student sports and some Universities. There was an article in the Wall Street Journal today about Major League Baseball risking future interest by not trying this year. I agree. But I also think athlete arrogance at the college or pro level may also help forever change the landscape.

 

Schools will survive, but athletics and other extra-curricular things will not. With the ******** going on right now, I would be fine with that. It seems sports do not develop character after all. Like Royal said, " Sports don't develop character , they reveal it !!!" These *** wipes have revealed theirs with their extortion. yes extortion... If they would have merely brought these issues up in a respectful way, it would have been one thing; but to say they are not going to play, help recruit, etc, etc unless these demands are met...SMDH.... Screw 'em !!!!

 

Actually this isn’t complicated, albeit not easy either.

Leadership is all about taking a position that might not be popular, or appealing to the masses. It takes courage, a commodity in very limited supply these days.

If Texas stands tall and does not yield to the pressure, short term it will be very difficult but long term, many will reluctantly agree that it was the right thing to do.

History is what it is. It cannot be eliminated, changed or rewritten. It just “is.”

 

Sorry, Duke, revisionist history is a major part of our educational process. Find me a school system that teaches REAL history and I’ll go sign both my grandchildren up tomorrow.

I recently had brain overload of all this "stuff" in the world and largely stopped watching the "news" on cable, visiting "news' websites, talk radio, reading articles online, visiting West Mall, etc.

As a result, my daily mindset and mood have improved.

Maybe I’m crazy but I am selling 100% of my stock. I only have about 12% left to sell now. It’s a major pain to do it. I am in cash in a brokerage account waiting on the crash. It won’t be long.

Every Country that has ever seen inflation or hyperinflation started printing and they’re stock market went parabolic. And then it crashed because the stocks were priced in the fraction of the currency unit said unit would buy. So if the USD is worth 30% of a Dollar our DJI ave could look 3.3 times more valuable than it is. After the crash it’s valuation would reflect a real dollars value. Then inflation sets in.

I read from all the worlds best Hedge Fund Mgrs. Warren Buffett has $137 B in cash on the sideline. Now I’m just getting into cash and out of the market! I fear for any of you believing in this fomo rally in stocks. It’s just not real.
