I quit pro football when the Oilers moved to Tennessee. I quit the NBA after Jordan retired the second time. I quit MLB during the last strike, then came back to it the last couple of years just to watch the Astros in the playoffs. After their cheating was revealed, never again. This fall will be weird without college football. Thankfully I fallen in love with the NHL. I just hope they don’t woke that up too.

Eskimo Pie? You know, I try, I really do, to wrap my head around some of the absurdity but then they (whomever they really is) Do something like this. Not sure which is the most absurd anymore between this and Aunt Jemima.

And, I seriously doubt it is the average indigenous person or black person who is offended. It's the white liberals in power who get bullied by the loud mouths who come up with this crap to wield power over the politicians.

I was driving down a highway in the area yesterday and there was a black couple with a baby in the back seat of their very late model Lincoln sedan. I doubt they complain about all this BS.

But that is just my myopic, low IQ view of this.

Next up should be white flour and White House and White Christmas. Washington Redskins can be Indigenous Americans. Dono what to do with the name of that sewer of a city.

    It’s a great new world.

Does anyone know of Eskimos complaining? Stupid but serious question. Thinking about it I’d love to have a dessert named after me.

Can one still use term “Eskimo brothers” or is that also racist? I know a few dudes that would like to see the term go away before the next reunion.

I will personally stand outside the Alamo with my AR-15 and I'll be using real bullets, armor piercing bullets. I will not allow those ******** to touch the Alamo.

My great-great-great grandfather is James Clinton Neill. He of the Gonzalez "Come and Take It" flag. He also commanded The Alamo before handing it over to Travis. He was headed back when it fell. I'm pretty much obligated to defend it by blood.

I was also a member of The Sons of Texas or somesuch because, on my father's side, a great-great-great grandfather was the ambassador to the US when Texas was a country. My Texas blood runs pretty damn deep.

Unfortunately the best way to try to get politics out of sports is for people to stop attending, donating or watching. There are other things to do in our lives and with our dollars.

Wasn't the world just a whole lot better when most people knew how funny Blazing Saddles and most Mel Brooks movies could be? Asking for a friend.

FWIW the only safe place on the internet might be Hornfans, a place where controversy can be discussed violently and respectfully. Beans and Chilly, fat side down, zero deaths.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

^^^^ as you know, Hollywood could not produce Blazing Saddles today.

So most people would agree some positive and meaningful social justice and better training within law enforcement changes are needed. Perhaps some changes in society. However, the lawlessness has gone way beyond the issue.

So far, some of the casualties of ******** PC culture that I'm aware of:

    Mrs. Butterworth
    Aunt Jemima
    Uncle Ben
    Eskimo Pie
Cream of Wheat - dropping the chef image
    Changing school names
    Changing military base names
Tearing down various and random statues
Vandalism of various memorials and historical places
Shaking down corporate America for $$$

There are probably some I missed...

Tearing down statues of all kinds, riots, looting, vandalism, violence have nothing to do with the death of George Floyd. At the core the ongoing violence & lawlessness is about radicals and anarchists taking advantage of the situation. They want to gain traction & power to overthrow the US system of government / capitalism. At the same time, of course, many want to get rid of Trump by any means necessary.

From the link in Dave's post above:
“The Democratic Party of Orange County condemns John Wayne’s racist and bigoted statements, and calls for John Wayne’s name and likeness to be removed from the Orange County airport.”

Well, I hereby condemn the Democratic Party of Orange County and call for them to be removed from the county. But I guess that won't carry any weight - they're apparently in step with the rest of the Peoples Republik of Kalifornia.

Sorry to bother you but are there actual Californians that want to rename the airport? Or is this a "made up story", I should have known was to ludicrous to be true?

FWIW, California was built by better people than the people that run it now. Totally despicable and sad.

I just saw this story on the news. I am not angry but this is crazy! Did any of these people see the Shootist? Or read Atlas Shrugged? Wealth of Nations? Watch My All American. Stop.

Crazy, essentially he said he did not think he should be sorry for things that happened long ago and with which he had nothing to do. We are stretching sooo far to be offended it’s inexplicable.

What is os stunning is that rich people have always had a leg up on the poor. Education was the equalizer. All white people (all people) are not the same and to say otherwise is simply silly. Jews, Catholics, Huguenots, Irish, etc, have faced discrimination here and abroad. This unlawfulness is not the way to dress it. and dog gonnit sports should bring us together, not be a field for division.

I believe the story to be true. If fact, if I recall correctly there were some who opposed the naming years ago, but probably for other reasons. Also, I think Wayne himself opposed putting the airport there.

John Wayne/Santa Ana/Orange County/SNA would have been eliminated had George Soros (that George Soros) had his way in the mid 90s. He was behind a big push for El Toro International (at the time a closing Marine base) that ultimately failed due to widespread spread South county opposition and the power of the Irvine Company, a huge land owner adjacent to the former marine base property.

My house is directly in line with what would have been most of the final approaches, about 15 miles out. In fact, military jets used to gun their engines overhead until 11:00 PM. While that was disconcerting, it was pretty cool watching an occasional C5A (I think) just overhead.

Sienna Plantation is now just going to be called Sienna. I have a black friend who lives on the street behind mine called plantation. Haven’t heard if that name is changing yet.
I wish Grand Cayman real estate wasn’t so expensive. And where am I going to find TexMex or BarBQ there? Please don’t make me leave the country. I don’t want to leave, please don’t make me. I Love The USA. We don’t need to upend it. We can just make improvements. Start with ending the Fed and make Bitcoin the reserve currency. That would be better than the ludicrous **** I hear being proposed. John Wayne Airport, I don’t get what’s wrong with the name. Change LAX to Sammy Davis Jr Airport. Just a thought?
