Thanks to you and HTown for bringing this...God...into the conversation. I knew this would come up eventually. Almost started it myself...thinking about a thread at West Mall so we can just get to the point. Where's it all leading?
That's simple....and there are many people on here and elsewhere who have a disdain for God masquerading as something else. They want to "change" truth because they don't like it...they can't like it. You will start seeing many parallels....if you don't already. Look deeper...you will see this isn't about politics, or race, or liberalism vs conservatism. I think we all know deep down what it is about and where it is all heading...and if you don't....may The Lord have mercy on you.

In my world, there is NO "respected voice" of Black Lies Matter. I have zero respect for gangsters, extortionists, and anyone wanting to revise well documented history, particularly for the benefit of their own pocketbook.

Shaun King has quite a -bad- reputation going all the way back to his days as an athlete. Seems a cloud follows every where he goes. Money missing here....breach of contract there, swindling, fake charity fronts and accusations and lawsuits from his own peers. Dude gets around. If you're gonna go full monty might as well take a swipe at God, too, I guess. /:

    Shaun King, really?

So he creates a problem that ol' Shaun King can rescue blacks or people of color from. Over my lifetime I have seen depictions of Jesus as olive, black, brown and white skinned. Does it REALLY matter since no one really knows what shade of color his skin was.

King is offended, so he wants to tear down statues of white Jesus, break stained glass of white Jesus or destroy any white image of Him.

According to King changing an artist rendering of Jesus from white skin to olive or some darker shade, wherever it is found, in his mind is going to level the playing field, bring about racial equality, social justice, better train law enforcement, get rid of bad cops, eliminate white supremacy?

    Right.

King your racism and hate towards white people offends me.

Heavy-handed? One could only presume heavy-handedness if they view everything through a glass of negativity.... which I think is the problem with the political correctness movement. Everything is assumed to be the worst possible light (racist, offensive, etc). I am not a muslim, but I do not think I could find a way to view "may allah bless you" negatively.... geez louise... you cant even say nice things to people anymore! May Jesus Christ bless you too @Omniscient.one!

The problem with the political correctness movement is it wants EVERYTHING to be assumed to be negative!

I should have been more specific.
    ....or maybe picked another thread.
I'm not talking specifically about this^^^^ particular issue.
I'm talking about the big picture....everything we are seeing on the whole.
But, for the record, the issue of race relations isn't exempt from considerations of God and faith, and it certainly plays a role in all we do or do not.

He also created some kind of bogus Coronavirus group and turned a little buck and ran.
    Ever the opportunist...
Maybe he can get everyone to give him money for every white Jesus he removes and pad the pocket a little more.

You are correct. There is no middle for the liberals. They are all wacko left. Damaging churches, pointing guns at pregnant women, destroying property and punching old ladies is now vogue for liberals. And they want no police. That’s why I am constantly stocking ammunition.

They also seem to be the ones who largely freeload society including this forum. The sponsor button is at the bottom.

    Man...you and me both...
    Tough these days.
It is tiresome, but I know even though we don't all agree always, we all care, so...

    Ok....football, football, football....
Or at least some good comedy.
But not a tragic comedy, please. Just a mindless, silly, pointless laughfest... something...anything.

Do you know any good jokes?

So you have an issue with the players pushing their (political) agenda on fans while simultaneously pushing your (religious) agenda on people here. I don’t see much difference between the two except yours being patronizing. It’s like when a lady says “bless your heart”; it’s an insult in that it evokes a sense of pity for the other person, not to mention in your case that you don’t know the other person’s religious beliefs. It’s a case where the only person you’re embarrassing is yourself.

I have zero idea what you’re talking about, but this is obviously a case of confirmation bias given you choose to ignore the terrible things the far right does. Again, focus on the extremes if you like, but you’re ignoring the large majority of Americans when you do. It’s too much to keep having a discussion with you; seems like you’re a car cutting you off from becoming the next Charles Whitman

That's not what that means at all. "Bless your heart" is something entirely different. That was actually me being nice and saying something nice instead of insulting someone. How about if I change it to "I hope Jesus Christ gives you a good day tomorrow" and take out the word "bless"? You may hate me, but I do not hate you or anyone. You may be assuming I dislike you back, but that is not the case.

I am not pushing my religion on anyone. The players are demanding people do things. I have not asked anything of you or made any demands. You are free to believe what you want to believe. I have not told you to believe anything. As I said, I would not be offended by a muslim saying "may allah bless you". That would not be religion pushing either. I mean, if you do not believe in something, why should you or anyone be a offended by anyone asking their god you do not believe in to do good things for you? That is a well wish from the person, even if you do not believe it will lead to divine intervention.

You are wrongly choosing to take something positive and make it a negative. If you hit the lottery, would you complain about the huge income tax burden you just received? If someone offered you bread, would you complain they assumed you did not have any gluten allergies?

I am going to say a prayer for you that you will not falsely interpret kindness in your life as meanness. You may not care or like people wishing you well, but you should not take it as a negative. I genuinely hope you can have a more positive outlook. This is not condescension, this is genuine disturbance that you are taking a nice thing and trying to spin it badly. I will never be embarrassed about praying for other people, wishing other people well, or saying nice things to other people. Peace and Jesus Christ's blessings on you, friend!

If you want to encourage me to sponsor, by all means do so.....but you've got the wrong guy here if you're calling me a liberal. 'Bout as far from it as you can get and most anyone here can verify that.
    Thanks, gent.

This exchange has made me wonder if "white privilege" is a state of mind. I mean, look at the nascar "noose." Someone hung a rope up and someone wrongly assumed it was a noose.... just like people are "finding" racism in the Eyes of Texas. The really issue may be everyone takes a negative spin on everything and that's why people are so angry! I mean, I have just unintentionally proven on this thread how someone can take something positive and spin it negatively. That's literally what is happening with the Eyes of Texas. Some of the players have taken something positive that fans sing in support of the team and are wrongly trying to spin it as negative and racist against them.

The problem with feelings is, feelings can be wrong! Just because you feel some way about something, does not make you right!

What I heard was it was the garage door rope fashioned into a noose.
But it was hanging that way since last fall.
    So, it was a noose.
It just wasn't placed there to intimidate Wallace.

It was being used as a garage door pull.

Well, people need to use reason instead of emotion and realize that "nooses" are a common occurrence among ropes. Have you considered all the nooses on children's shoes? SO MANY KNOTS WITH BUNNY EARS, I MEAN NOOSES! GOD HELP US!

Guy that ran over protesters in Virginia. Re-enacted the death of George Floyd as BLM protesters were on a march. Dylann Roof. The white supremacist who shot up a mosque in New Zealand. I mean, really. There’s a ton. What a strange question.

The thought that the right doesn’t or hasn’t done terrible things is ludicrous. But, again, we’re talking about a minority of extremists on both sides

    Don't be ridiculous.
You know what a noose is.
And it's not how you tie your shoes.
And it doesn't matter what the purpose of the rope is that it was fashioned from.
Now, it may not have been directed at anyone, but in this climate when it appears in the only black drivers garage I think you can understand the misunderstanding.
Maybe Jesus can explain it to you.
