You want a smart black politician that both sides (excluding the Bush family) respect?

    How about JC Watts?

And herein lies part of the problem with politics today.

    Imagine the following two scenarios:
    1. Michelle Obama is invited to speak. African-American. Accomplished. Political. Other than a few "keyboard warriors" bitching on the interwebs, her speaking engagement would go off without a hitch. Surely nobody with any power connected to The University would have to balls to speak against her - nor should they based simply on her political beliefs.
    2. Dr. Ben Carson is invited to speak. African-American. Accomplished. Political. A shitstorm ensues. Many professors speak out against him. There are protests to cancel the speaking engagement. There are protests outside the engagement. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if the players themselves walked out in in protest.

This is where we are folks. This is your 2020 American college campus. I'm sure LH and a couple of others are perfectly fine with this; however, if you're even left of center, you'll be next. Have fun.

Actually, I was just trying to get a rise out of you guys and it wasn't hard. :)

I saw an interview with Quan Cosby and his thoughts made a lot of sense.
He does not believe in ditching the song.
If any other ex players hold his views then they would be the ones to speak.
    Wonder what VY thinks.

How about the audio of Malcolm X discussing how the black man had become of the tool and football of the white liberal?

Candace Owens, all joking aside, would be the best person to address the team. She is conservative, black, & tells it like it is regarding BLM, and how their race is being used by the left.
She should run for president someday.

Unfortunately, Ms. Owens and Mr. Elder are just considered to be Aunt Tina and Uncle Tom. It would cause more of a **** storm to invite either of them.

HIC, in a rare moment of disunity, I have to disagree.

These dudes are 18 to 22 years old with hormones off the charts. In addition to being brilliant and eloquent to the max, Candace Owens is freakin’ gorgeous. (Can I say that?) She would have them mesmerized, but they might not hear a word she says...

If they are not too distracted and offended, some might learn more useful information in one hour of listening to Candace Owens than they would from 1-4 years of taking college classes, especially with today's faculty.

What, exactly, would Owens talk about with a group of athletes? I could see them listening to Scott or Watts, who completely fit the bootstrap narrative, but there's nothing in Owens' repertoire that she could pull out and the coaching staff would deem "yeah this is really pumping the team up."

Yeah, why go to class and listen to professors of the University of Texas at Austin when you could listen to a college dropout who "switched teams" because gamers got pissed off at her?

Candace would talk about her experience as a Black woman who woke the F up from the pipe dream that Dems care about Black people.

How realistic. So, they march to the Capitol as a team and have an 8:46 moment of silence, and then a month later, go and get "reverse woke" lessons from someone who has criticized athletes for not shutting up and playing. I thought we wanted someone to talk to the team about teamwork or hard work or something along those lines. At least Watts played football, despite being a Sooner.

Nate Boyer also comes to mind.

“What we see depends mainly on what we look for” Sterns quoted that on Instagram recently. Wish he knew all the implications In that quote cause it is sure true to what is happening now, from statue destroying to name changing!

Sorry but **** Nate Boyer and his kneeling advice. We need someone to educate these players as to what BLM is all about ( because it isn't about black lives. They are Marxists ).
