    I am in a state of belligerence against the MLB much like Andorra against Imperial Germany. That History Nerd: World War I Ended in 1919, but Andorra Fought On

    1. The designated hitter is BS and not real baseball;
    2. The Astros should be in the national league;
    3. Interleague baseball must go. Separation of the leagues forever!;
    4. The 1 game wild card is stupid; and
    5. I am tired of the astros getting pooped on. They have been screwed over since they were the Houston Buffalos. Some examples:
    a. Being forced into the vastly inferior american league;
    b. Not being able to open the roof for the world series;
    c. Being forced to play a hurricane game against the Cubs in Milwaukee that cost the Astros that divisional race;
    d. On steroids, they falsely accused Bagwell and then tried to make Astro Clemens (who won his case twice) the face of it instead of the home run hitters Bonds, Macguire and Sosa because Mitchell was a red sox fan and mad they let Clemens go to early;
    e. Getting scapegoated over sign stealing when it now appears everyone except maybe the Pittsburgh Pirates (who really need to start cheating) was doing the same thing. I mean, the whole thing is dumb. The astros are in trouble for a form of cheating which is legal and part of the game except the astros were doing it the wrong way except that everyone else (except the Pirates) was doing it the same wrong way (electronically) as well. People may not have kept up with it with the pandemic but the Red Sox and Yankees were both caught and neither received the same penalty as the astros. In reality, the astros are never supposed to win and the MLB had to punish them for doing so in 2017. The AL teams are also mad the astros joined and promptly won 2 AL titles proving the superiority of being an NL franchise once and for all.

    Wait, Mount Rushmore was built on land that once belonged to the Indians? Who knew? They should have built it in the part of the Americas that never belonged to the Indians which is.... the Falklands?

    “Belonged to the Indians”? Need to see a warranty deed or title search. Does something “belong” to you if you just happened to be born there? If so, I own a really nice hospital.

    Who really knows? They may have sold it for some beads and fire water.

    1) BLM needs to rename itself SBLM, because only some black lives matter to them.
    When over a weekend you have numbers in the teens being killed by other blacks, and it is ignored, you don't have the right to call yourselves Black Lives Matter. The only black lives that matter are the ones you can use to further your agenda.

    2) The people defending their home, from an interview I heard with the male homeowner, took a dilapidated home in a sketchy area and fixed it up. Other people began to gentrify the area, and it became a very nice area next to the sketchy area. The protesters were definitely on private property. They had walked up an large area of lawn, and were standing by a small cement fence. They were shouting out threats to harm them, and to kill their dog.
    Owner, having watched how quickly these "peaceful" mobs burn and loot businesses felt scared they would over run him and enter his home.
    That is his side of the story, but watching it, I would have been terrified. No one was injured, the mob dispersed, and I would call it a perfectly handled situation.

    3) The pandering to 13% of our country infuriates me. How many millions have been pledged to BLM in a knee jerk reaction, and who knows what they are doing with the money?
    The irony, to me, is we as a Nation went through the rioting, protesting, give black people what they want movement in the late 60s. And here we are again. So, I guess all of this destruction, protesting a phantom cause, giving black people several advantages didn't work once. Our politicians were strong back then, and didn't sit on their hands and let the tail wag the dog.
    With every concession we make, it only emboldens the mob, to demand more, and we freaking give it! Trump will lose this election, I fear, and while I didn't vote for him, or HRC, I will this time, or America as we know it is lost forever.
    Republicans, normal Americans, Trump, we need to quit being fearful of what may happen and stand up for what is right. These statues, and Mt. Rushmore are pieces of art! Cities are seriously de-funding police? We sit by while groups of people run our police out of their precinct, or government offices?
    When is enough, enough?
    I hate that this is making me have racist feelings, but honestly, it is. Almost very other immigrant group that has made their way to the US has prospered--the Vietnamese who arrived with nothing, Indians, and other groups. Meanwhile many black people have done nothing with the advantages given them, except make excuses about something that happened a long time ago. I'm sick and tired of the bowing and scraping. If people truly want equality, act like it.
    While you are at it, take some ownership of your behaviors and recognize that there is a reason a perception exists to be a bit more cautious of a black man. Jesse Jackson even said he was relieved if he looked over his shoulder while he was out walking and saw a white person. This divide is not driven by white people. Look inward, and see what responsibility you have to make things better.
    4) I am stunned, stunned I tell you that no one posted about the "hotness" of the Venezuelan woman. Boys, you're slipping!

    I bet the Lakota tribe had slaves as well...in addition to the fact that they murdered, disemboweled, and burned women and children of other tribes. They also chewed on their own head lice like other Indians. Ahh, fun facts the NYT failed to print.

    The battle is over. The Left won. It firmly controls the American historical narrative. They control the MSM. They control the school curriculums from elementary school through college. They write the textbooks. They control social media, blocking conservative opinions while trumpeting left-wing points of view. Netflix throws millions to the Obamas and does "documentaries" about the innocence of the Central Park 5 and pushes shows about great American "heroes" like Muhammed Ali and Colin Kapernick. In another brainwashed generation or two, the notion of America as a great and noble country will just be a racist memory.

    When you say "Indians", I presume you mean people from India? Because so-called "Native Americans" have not done so well overall. Could it be there is a correlation between being given a living by the government and how well one succeeds in life?

    Yeah, that is not going to happen.

    Carlson is also dominating the key 25-54 demo

    Tucker Carlson Tonight (791,000), Fox News
    Hannity (754,000), Fox News
    Special Report (668,00), Fox News
    The Five (655,000), Fox News
    The Ingraham Angle (655,000), Fox News
    The Story (603,000), Fox News
    Cuomo Prime Time (587,000), CNN
    Anderson Cooper 360 (568,000), CNN
    CNN Tonight (524,000), CNN
    Erin Burnett OutFront (502,00), CNN

    Carlson’s average now is more than what sports shows have these days and sports tends to have a younger audience. If you dont already know, 25-54 is the primary focus for most advertisers. The age group is deemed impressionable to new products by cable news sponsors.
    Even if you change the age to 18-48, Carlson won that group too (over last 5 years).

    Agree 100 percent, and I say that as a lifelong fan of AL teams.

    I agree. It's not that I think they're entitled to be in any particular league, but they were moved for a stupid reason. The franchise was created in the NL, and there was no respectable reason to move them. I think they moved them to balance out the move of the Brewers to the NL. And of course, they moved the Brewers to the NL, because Selig didn't want his team having to compete with the Cleveland Indians who were dominant at the time. It tampered with the integrity of the game, and it was woefully short-sighted. The Indians were tough at the time, but the Cardinals and Cubs are much tougher competitors most of the time.

    Hell yes. It was a cheap, stupid gimmick.

    It is appropriate in tie situations but that's it.

    You probably overstate your case a little, but yes, they have gotten screwed.

    in general, if it was up to me, I'd get rid of the DH, enforce a real strike zone (shoulders to the knees), raise the pitcher's mound to 1968 levels, require all outfield walls to be green, and go back to 2 divisions with only one playoff series (and a tiebreaker game if necessary to decide the division champions). And interleague play is the dumbest thing the league has ever done. AL players should play NL players twice - in the All Star Game and in the World Series. One other thing, GET RID OF THE UNBALANCED SCHEDULE. When you play 16 games, it's a necessity. When you play 162, it's not. Dump it.

    Though I wouldn't enforce it by rules, we should also bring back the 4-man rotation (and therefore 40 starts and 300 innings for the guys at the top of the rotation) and dump the stupid-*** "closer." Your top relief pitcher should come in with the game on the line and lock the game down. He shouldn't come in with nobody on in the 9th inning, face the bottom of the order, and scarf up an easy save. Think Goose Gossage or Rollie Fingers, not Mariano Rivera or Trevor Hoffman. There's nothing wrong with Rivera or Hoffman, but they racked up a ton of cheap saves.
