Under Armour has notified UCLA that they are terminating their apparel contract:

Under Armour tells UCLA it wants to end deal with school

The article is behind a paywall, but the first paragraph says it all:

" Under Armour has informed UCLA that it wants to terminate the record-setting $280-million deal the apparel giant signed with the school in 2016, a potential financial blow that the Bruins intend to fight.

The company said in a statement Saturday that it wanted to end the partnership because of UCLA’s inability to provide unspecified marketing benefits as required by the contract between the parties.

“Under Armour has recently made the difficult decision to discontinue our partnership with UCLA, as we have been paying for marketing benefits that we have not received for an extended time period,” the company said in a statement supplied to The Times. “The agreement allows us to terminate in such an event and we are exercising that right.”

While Under Armour has its own issues, I suspect this isn't going to be the last.

I suspect not fielding teams has something to do with it. Along with having horrible football and basketball during the period of this contract. Attempting to walk away because you gave away the farm upfront seems like a flawed legal strategy.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

I suspect licensed Under Armor UCLA gear is not being promoted as agreed in the contract and more importantly probably not selling well to the public.

That's Under Armour's fault because they never marketed the merchandise in Chinese.

Seriously, look at UA since they fired their original Director of Sales & Marketing, compounded by Plank screwing over his old friend Mike Leach.
