Strong side DE is not a huge need. We have a lot of big bodies that can play the SDE spot. Biggest need by far are Rush ends and Outside linebackers. We need speed and athletic bodies.

Don't get me wrong if we do lose Turner it is a big loss, but it's not like when we lost on the Brocks. That was heart breaking big. We need a big year to set us up for next season. I counted in the current 247 top 100 there are 19 Texas kids on that 2022 list. We need about 10 of them. Especially that QB.

Yurcich and Carrington are both now following 4-star WR J.Michael Sturdivant from Flower Mound. Cal is favored at the moment

" .... He is ranked No. 27 nationally among 2021 wide receiver prospects, as well as No. 25 overall in the state of Texas for his class. The Top247 rankings put Sturdivant higher across the board: No. 95 overall in the country, No. 11 among 2021 wideouts, and No. 14 overall in the Lone Star State's 2021 cycle. Sturdivant's recruiting process took off thanks to his outstanding junior season. He finished the 2019 campaign with 87 catches for 1,125 yards and 10 touchdowns. Sturdivant is the top target for Nussmeier as Flower Mound Marcus looks to make another playoff run this fall following last year's 11-2 record and Texas Class 6A Division II third-round appearance.

In addition to his exploits on the gridiron, Sturdivant competes in multiple track and field events, including the 100-meter dash, the 200-meter dash, the long jump, and the triple jump. Sturdivant owns a personal record of 11.27 seconds in the 100 meters, as well as a 22.30 in the 200. He set his personal best in the long jump in early March prior to the coronavirus pandemic shutdown with a leap of 20 feet, 11 1/2 inches. ..."

I can understand all UT fans disappointment in the twins going elsewhere. My question is if it was your future, would you pick a proven track or a wishful track. If I wanted my kids to be successful, you make a business decision and right now that doesnt favor Herman. If he doesnt like it, fix the issue so thats not even on the table. Win baby win!!

Pretty sure most are more disappointed that Herman and staff is constantly whiffing on this level talent than being disappointed in the kids. Although it is disappointing to see a Longhorn family not do whatever in their power to help their alma mater. I personally don't blame the kids at all.

I do blame the kids, and their parents. Not for rejecting Texas, but why do you send your kids to a private HS and allow them to go to college at Bama? You're sending a message that education doesn't matter and only FB matters.

I could accept them picking Stanford, NW or Michigan, but why Bama if you value education at all? And I don't accept this idea of Bama gives them a better chance at the NFL. NFL scouts are scouting these guys now and they will be under a microscope their whole career. This is not the 1969 Dallas Cowboys who had a system for identifying hidden gems. Believe me, teams spend millions to know everything and they do.

If a player from Lenoir Ryne, which I thought was a small town in Ireland, can get drafted high in the 2nd round, then they definitely know everything. And this happens every year in the draft. The best players get drafted regardless of school. Sure there are a lot more players drafted from Bama, Clemson, OSU because they recruit the best players. I think an argument could even be made that going to a lesser school could even enhance the chances of a really good player because it gives them a better chance to stand out.

Being better than the worst coach in the last 80 years at UT is not a good endorsement.

    Something to think about.

For the Brocks, keep in mind their older brother plays for Texas they are still going to be supporting him by attending games.

The atmosphere isn't going to be the same, but it's still UT football. I'm not saying they will flip, but if we have a great season and they do get to see it, it might sway them back to the good guys.

I know, I know, give it up, but I think this is going to be a great season. So, you never know.

    Run,

I can make a case for graduating from Alabama, a school that does an outstanding job of taking care of its own, something that we used to do but has died under the influence of a bunch of damn foreigners in the president's office over the last several decades.

The State of Alabama is currently the best place to locate a business and has been for several decades. Ask Thyssen Krupp, Mercedes Benz, BMW, the Korean car manufacturers.

Louisiana offered TK $400 million to locate in Donaldsonville, yet they built in the north end of Baldwin County. Georgia spent a fortune preparing a place and dredging the river in Savannah for the Koreans, who are located on I-20 in central Alabama. The fight for the Airbus plant located in Mobile was legendary.

AIDT is one of the most dynamic entities in America and very appealing to senior corporate management.

There is no better place to locate a business than in Alabama, even if you incorporate in a friendly environment.

These places are loyal to Alabama and to Auburn. Making a quality living after college is not an issue. While they have some problems, Alabama is not faced with the tidal wave of liberal ******** that Texas faces.

Side note - their beaches are much nicer than ours.

So unles the Brocks intend to go educrat and try to do graduate work at Harvard, MIT, or Stanford, their Alabama education will serve them well across the South, everywhere but businesses owned by Auburn alums.

BMW is made in SC but that doesn’t distract from your point.

Automotive | Made in Alabama: Alabama Department of Commerce

Both employment and production will receive a massive boost when the Mazda Toyota Manufacturing USA partnership opens a $1.6 billion joint venture assembly plant in Alabama. Construction began 2019, and the Huntsville facility will employ up to 4,000 workers after production launches in 2021. Annual production capacity will be up to 300,000 vehicles.

Easiest group of people I've ever done business with. Read up on AIDT. I'd love for Texas to have that, BUT with our legislature and political malfunctions, it would be a cluster f**k of "you have to hire this one".

Gary does an incredible job of running AIDT, culling the trash and delivering and guaranteeing the quality of workers. At Airbus, there are only three people that didn't come through AIDT, and those were appointees from Europe. So janitors to Sr VPs came through Gary's office. They interviewed 37,000 for the new plant in Huntsville for 3500 jobs.

Because we all know degrees don't carry the same weight as they did 25 years ago. Unless they want to be astronauts or physicists or doctors where they get the paper from is pretty much irrelevant these days. I have several UT grads working in my store making $17 an hour. Hell I have a doctorate ex UT professor working in my store so the generalized UT is better than Bama argument has zero weight even if statictically it's true. They are now going to be football players in a football factory trying to earn a free piece of paper and build relationships that will help them down the road after football. I'm sure they felt Bama gave them the best opportunity to do that and win a championship.

    Vol,

I've posted before that my dad told me, and I told my children, "I'm going to spend a lot of money for you to get a piece of paper which gets you a job, where someone else is going to spend a lot more money giving you an education."

SH, my company hired KornFerry to assist with our internal talent bank of employees. Rollout is in August. Thoughts?

Run to WalMart and get as many cases of Vaseline as possible. I have nothing but disdain for KornFairy; absolutely not one ounce of respect. Get used to self-dealing, and follow the money trail.

Get ready for total incompetence as they fill your place with their buddie$,

I think Chris Del Conte is the best AD in the country, but if I found out he was doing business with KornFairy, I would demand he be fired and ask that I be allowed to head the audit to follow the money trail.

So did they Joe. And I promise you it was UT. This only changed in the last year.

Yes, and their eyes are looking to the NFL after however many years they play in college. I cannot imagine them settling in Alabama after they finish playing. You never know, but I would expect they would find their way back to Texas, or maybe out west in Big Sky Country.

That's actually a bit of irony for ma as the company I used to work for has a big plant in AL. Then they bought another 40 acres of land behind it to build another big plant. Why? To eventually close 2 plants in CA and move production to AL. Yes, Texas will go the way of CA too if we keep letting the Marxists grab more and more power.

However, I'd still rather have a great education even if it didn't get me a better job.

Every job I have ever had I got because of The University of Texas. It seems now, however, with the creation of University of Phoenix and smaller colleges online degree programs, where you went to school is far less important than it used to be.

Hell, Metro in Houston hired a woman as its CEO who had two juco degrees, which counted as four years of something in the minds of the morons running Metro.
