In short, the higher up the respiratory tract that the virus attacks, the more infectious but less lethal. The opposite occurs when the virus attacks lower in the lungs (less infectious but more lethal).

You guys should do a little research before spreading your fear porn.

OU will not suck. Again. You guys are totally Aggieish with this dated feigned hatred of the Sooners. Their program got cleaned up years ago and they have been a lot more successful than us for most of those years.

I've said as much on other threads and so have others. I figure OU will always win the Big XII. They just about always find a way to do it.

Why does it stop? Why did it stop like I predicted 10 days ago? Why doesn’t it keep spreading so that cases exceed 10,000 cases per day? Masks? Order to close bars? Do you think people really changed their behavior in last 14 days? We really have a lot of brain dead folks in the media (Or they assume the readers are brain dead). Note that when cases start decreasing nationwide (running 2 weeks behind Texas), media will switch to something else as covid could be seen as Trump success story.

Once it goes down, it doesn’t come back up unless there are areas that haven’t experienced the first wave.

Not a football team, I realize, but perhaps a harbinger of things to come?
Miami Marlins home opener canceled due to Covid-19 positive tests, per reports
    From CNN's Wayne Sterling

The Miami Marlins' home opening game against the Baltimore Orioles tonight has been canceled due to a number of players and staff testing positive for Covid-19, according to multiple reports.

According to ESPN's Jeff Passan, eight players and two coaches have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total cases on the team to at least 14.

Miami played their first three games of the shortened 60-game season in Philadelphia this past weekend, winning two of three.

The Marlins did not travel back to Miami after the three-game series ended Sunday as they remained overnight for more testing.

This is the first game to be canceled this season.

Because they not only care about winning (as Texas claims to) but then go out and do what they need to do to win the game(s). I feel like it's because they don't worry about anything but football. It's a novel concept. Wish Texas would adopt that.

Ok, I'm a "do-what-you-want to do" guy but will say I finally know people with covid, both 50s ish. One got it when 20 something daughter came home with it, the other has 20-something college kids who bring home other 20-somethings to visit. The first still has a cough that won't go away, the second contracted pneumonia from it and came back to work too soon and I fear for his wellness (still struggling). I still believe everyone should be able to make their own choice/mask-no mask/etc etc. But agree with others that it appears it can be more unpleasant than the flue for some...

Hopefully people can keep it together until mid-August when cases will be clearly down all over.

I think we will see this sort of situation all too often over the next 8-10 months.

I was really sad for the Cowboys db Canady.....Said he was choosing safety of family over money. So unfortunate as it is a false choice....I believe both can happen and he is denying his family a great income this year unnecessarily. Didn't appear to be any particular health issues or risk factors in play.

Some of the guys opting out probably would have had trouble making a roster so their choice was easy - take the $150,000.

The $150k comes out of next years salary.
If you are not on a team next year then you still are required to pay back the $150k.
