Hamstring is a lot like your ankle, if you have issues, it's going to linger and you just have to deal with it. Big difference is you cannot get your hams taped
Seemed to have happened about a week ago...he'll be fine. Jordan Whittington out for two weeks due to injury
Yep, I saw it posted a couple of weeks ago, but I dunno about the he'll be fine. Hammies linger, linger, linger and given his history who knows.
Sure.....Thats what Herman kept saying about WR Johnson this last year after he tweeked hamstring. How many games did he miss ??? And when he did play just how much did that minor injury affect his play ? Add the issue with his groin problem, and this guy may not see the field any more than Johnson's brother did.
t If we took all the players “Herman Said” were out x weeks... and that turned out to be true,,,,couple that with “Herman Saying” all the players he said were out an extended time and that was true compared to two who rehabbed and tried to play (Johnson and now Whittington) , then bud you make a really weak argument I remember Herman saying about Whittington last year that he would be out. Also, I have zero affiliation with the team, but I read it was a hamstring not a groin.
Some people’s bodies ( like ours ) can’t take the strains and punishment of college football. Just running full speed all the time is tough enough...
Put him in the new type of men's pantyhose Pantyhose (the original kind) were the difference in the 1976 Earl and the 1977 Earl. We owe that to the pre-season Hype$man favorite from oSu. Terry Allen ???
All of these injuries are while not playing in a game when some one can give him THE RONA on a tackle.....
i have no idea what they are, but finding a pair in 1977 that fit Earl was damn near impossible, and I believe their USO tour was in Germany at that time.
I believe that Whittington is simply physically strung too tight. Like a tennis racquet, if strung too tight, it’s snaps. JW keeps snapping. Given his chronic groin issues, someone should be making sure he is pacing himself and not muscling up too much. If I were training Whittington I would have him spend less time in the weight room and more time in the swimming pool. If I am not mistaken they did that with Earl as well.
I believe JW has potential to best Shipley from a talent and on-field impact standpoint.......IF he can get and stay healthy. This dude is the real deal. No disrespect and I'm not knockin Ship. I just think that highly of JWhitt.
Not looking at ALL the players...Just these two and what Herman said about Johnson and Whittington. I never questioned Herman's statements on players who he said would be out a long period of time. Its the ones he has said were minor and turned out to be an extended time out.... Second point ...Too much muscle isn't necessarily a good thing, especially with a guy who seems to be injury prone with pulls and tears. He needs more flexibility, not bulk !!!!!!!!
I recall Earl had frequent hamstring problems his Frosh, Soph. & Jr. years. Trainer Frank Medina (or someone) got him wearing some kind of Men's athletic hosiery (think women's pantyhose) and he had no hamstring problems his Sr. year and IIRC he had a decent season!
Worster, oSu had a RB named Terry Allen. Going into the 1977 season, he was the Hype$man favorite. In the summer of 77, he roomed with Earl on a USO tour. During conversation, Allen told Earl to wear pantyhose, that he did and it solved his problems. Earl thought it was a joke, until Allen showed him. Earl tried it, and the rest is history.
