Tunmise Adeleye decommits from Ohio State.

Is Jalen Milroe working his magic? The moxie is strong with that one.

Always room for improvement, but one cannot change past results, unless one is USC and vacate ALL wins and losses, so:deadhorse:.

I dont think we are getting him

But some CBs (Roach & Fong) have come in for RB LJ Johnson
Those two usually wait until they are certain to caste their votes
    Johnson is an excellent back

Of the two, i like Johnson but am hoping for Wheaton.
But I would take Savion Byrd, if we could have any choice.
We need more horses on the Line.

Add Nick Harris to the LJ Johnson CBs

Most people who have actually seen them both run from the sidelines have Johnson rated above Wheaton. And Johnson is not slow at all, he has speed too, just not quite Wheaton speed

    Here is Fong --

Flipped my Crystal Ball from (aggy) to Texas regarding Top247 running back LJ Johnson after talking to a couple sources with knowledge of the recruitment.
    * * *
(aggy) remain in play and the source indicated it’s most likely the blue-chipper out of Cypress (Texas) Cy-Fair would land at either of the two in-state programs. .... Last week I mentioned the relationship with Stan Drayton being key in this recruitment. The source added Johnson also has a relationship with Bijan Robinson. The the third thing mentioned was that Texas being the biggest brand in Austin and the name-image likeness possibilities of playing at Texas are huge.

Johnson is tabbed by the Top247 as the nation’s No. 3 running back and No. 31 prospect overall. He is the No. 4 prospect overall in the state.

The source did say he thought Johnson would stick to his timeline of deciding after his senior season. As a junior he rushed for 1,951 yards and 37 touchdowns.
If the last paragraph is true, then he is not the rumored new commit
Also, aggy thought they had him, so there'e that

This is exciting. Can you imagine Robinson and Johnson in the same backfield at times, though I think they will rotate. 1,2 punch.
    Let's go o-line recruits.

Well, I say I like this decommit but watch him go to OU or LSU. Ugh

And Harris, also. So it is a 247Sports Mexican stand off with both of the aTm experts saying it is their school and the three UT experts saying it will be UT.

Hope that clarifies it for you.

Bijan has been reported on a few sites as recruiting him very hard. Interesting because when judged by style, Wheaton is closer to Bijan. But LJ has that initial one wiggle that makes the first man miss and he is heavier than the other top two backs.

Nothing sweeter than aTm tears flowing into their slop buckets.

Neither do I, but the Texas DL will be very stout as also will be the Texas DB for a few years. I could see the attraction for him staying in state and coming up with his buddy Milroe. Someone got him to decommit from aOSU. Was it an opposing DL coach? I would note that Giles has been doing a bang up job as a DL recruiter and coach.

    Perhaps
Well he said that we can't get players ready for the NFL, so that means he won't be coming here. But we're good anyway.

Well, if Tunmise is drinking the $EC Kool-Aid, and Johnson is on hold in a 247 Sports Mexican stand off, and Jackson has not had a change of heart about entrusting his future to LSU education, it must be Wheaton, right?

Very intriguing. I guess Ketron is another dark horse.

Maybe he got woke to Omenihu, Ford, Malcolm Brown and a few score others who preceded him? Timelines are short for the wet-behind-the-ears ones.

The TFP post says "high profile and unexpected"

We are favored on CBs for Ketron so that would not be unexpected
Tunmise is both but he's made it pretty clear he hates B12 football
LJ Johnson was favored to aggy, but in the last few days that has changed that to slightly favoring us. He also seems determined to wait to announce. Plus rumor is he is not who TFB was talking about
Wheaton only has one CB (ou). Going by the most recent rumors, he is giving us serious consideration which might not qualify as him as "unexpected"

My great hope is that we are flipping Donovan Jackson - he is a tOSU commit at a position of need. And he is better than Byrd (who they say might not even be the best OT on his own high school team)

And just like that, Roach pulled the rug out from under me on Jackson

Tunmise Adeleye made his decision to decommit from Ohio State today following the announcement that the Big 10 and PAC 12 would postpone fall sports. I don’t expect anything to happen there with Texas as Florida and Texas A&M seem to be the schools talked about most. I also talked with sources near Bellaire Episcopal five-star offensive tackle DonovanJackson. When I broached the subject of Jackson looking around, I was shut down pretty quickly and told that he was all in with the Buckeyes. Don’t expect anything on that front.
    Dang it

Donovan Jackson is from Columbus, like Garret Wilson, so he is drinking the stinking Kool-Aid there. I guess it is time to visit the uncommitted lists, but Wheaton committing to Texas before the season would still qualify in my book. I do not know if it would for TFB.

Of course it could be a dead rumor, I suppose.

    Back from the recruiting boards.

If the rumor is true, maybe Ceyair Wright? Did a virtual visit occur?

Of real interest to me are OT Tristian Leigh and Nolan Rucci, both rated above D. Jackson and both uncommitted. Texas did offer Rucci, and the B1G did shut down .... so.

TreVeyon Henderson did visit UT .... so, maybe?

Tunmise Adeleye is CB 33%OU and 17% UT, but probably out dated.

Maybe Bryce Foster? That would be a surprise. Hello Jalen Milroe.

Which leaves Savion Byrd, or how about Jo Jo Earle?

Maybe Quadarius Davis got cold feet about USC? Would that matter?

Theodore Knox realized what a dump MSU is?

He has strong feelings about Jesus and felt better about Baylor who recruited him longer
The Wickline vs. Hand subplot was also a little amusing

Here is Roach on John/Wheaton --
Also, adding Brandon Harris is starting to work out very well for us, we need to hang on to him

LJ Johnson -- The four-star running back from Cy-Fair is a guy Texas has been working on a ton, and we detailed last week that no school was recruiting him harder. That effort appears to be paying off as a key source near Johnson told 247Sports that Texas holds the edge. This is a pretty big development as sources near Johnson told Horns247 back in the spring that (aggy) held a pretty clear lead. There were rumors that Johnson was close to shutting his recruitment down, but our digging didn’t find anything imminent. It seems like Texas is putting itself into a strong position here and if the staff keeps pushing, they could get him to move his timeline up from the fall.

—There have been a lot of questions on how this will affect Camar Wheaton. The simple answer is that the two are independent recruitments. They don’t know each other or talk. I spoke with a source near Wheaton today to take the temperature on how Johnson’s interest would change his recruitment, and I was told that any rumors of another commit wouldn’t move any. In fact, I was told that Wheaton would probably love for someone to make his decision easier. I’d like to think that Texas would take both guys if they could, but numbers are going to be tight and it’s unlikely one would want to follow the other. I haven’t been told anything for sure, but my gut tells me that the likelihood of grabbing both is probably low.

—Regardless, Johnson or Wheaton would be a massive pick up for Texas. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but both have legitimate speed, and Johnson has a power component to his game that sets him apart. Texas is prioritizing both to continue adding depth and talent to the running back room. One key component in this recruitment is assistant running backs coach Brandon Harris. The former LSU quarterback has been generating some buzz with several running back recruits over the past few weeks. I’m going to have a full background story on Harris tomorrow.
