Yes, but pectoral injuries can be slow healing.

You are the one always talking about quality of education; UCLA is always listed well above Texas in rankings, while Baylor is nowhere to be scene on that list. Seems Herman would have an easy sale.

    Ash quote --

"Our overall freshman class of guys on the defensive side of the ball, I'm pleased with. From the front, to the linebackers, to the back end, we have several guys that I think we're going to contribute to our football team whether it be on defense or special forces."

Why do I like this so much but at the same time think its a little odd? It certainly changes the overall tenor toward that group to something much more important.

Looks like high quality teammate. Must be planned for special teams demon. Don't really see any needs at WR....

Experience. After Eagles and Smith, there really are no WR with significant college game time.

With 4 interceptions in 10 games as a freshman safety, he sounds like an Athlete.

His brother is also a good MLB at AZ.

Thompson's high school film showed his propensity to hit like a sledgehammer. He's one of those sub-200 lb safeties that hits like a 245 lb + middle linebacker.

Yep. Our Center position is good at the starter level, but very thin. Kerstetter is good. Ghirmai is a big athlete, and he may become very good, but he still needs a lot of work. We can't rely on true Freshman for quality depth. That being said, Jake Majors may develop into a good one with a few years in our weight training program--he plays mean and nasty. Other than QB, C is the toughest position to recruit.

Also, Kerstetter can play any position on the line. If we get another quality center on board, that would free up Kerstetter to play RT or RG. Our left side of the OL looks pretty stout. Not so sure about our right side as it now looks on paper...

If Javonne Shepherd could have just put his head down and got to work, he would be in pretty good shape right now

Attending classes would have helped, also. He did not strike me as academically disadvantaged, but he did make some poor choices about how to conduct his life.

DaJon Harrison opted out of 2020 because of COVID-19.
Texas freshman receiver DaJon Harrison has opted out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19 concerns, according to my sources. - Anwar Richarson

Collins Will Be A Big Impact Player in 2020
Then there is this other guy Broughton.

He is beating Reese Moore on this rush.

This seems to be the second OL: Moore - Majors - Ghirmai - Imade - Jones

The DL here is Bush - Collins - Sweat - Broughton

So Bush has moved up and Collins, Majors, and Collins are showing up. Ghirmai may be holding on to the 2nd Center position.

Wrongly convicted Greg Kelley in transfer portal

"Wrongly convicted former Leander safety Greg Kelley, whose story has been featured in the Showtime documentary "Outcry," is in the NCAA transfer portal in hopes of getting a chance to play college football more than six years after losing a scholarship opportunity at UTSA by being falsely imprisoned.

Kelley, 25, who has been a student at Texas since January, went through a walk-on tryout with the Longhorns in February. Despite performing well, according to sources who said Kelley ran a 4.6 40, Texas didn't add any walk-ons from the tryout because its roster was full. Texas has since decided not to add any walk-ons due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Kelley's name appeared in the NCAA transfer portal Wednesday morning.

Kelley, who is 6-foot-1 and 218 pounds, told Horns247 on Wednesday he's getting serious interest from an FBS school and might know something by the end of the week about a possible scholarship opportunity.

"It would mean the absolute world for me to have football in my life again," Kelley told Horns247. "It's not the biggest part of my life, but it's an important part and an itch I feel still needs to be scratched. I'm 25 and still young enough to compete and dish out and take the blows. I just want to get out there and play my heart out.

"Texas was my dream school growing up. That's why I worked so hard to get enrolled here. I'd be giving up a lot by leaving Texas. But I just want to get back on the field and play the game I love for a school that wants to give me a chance." ...."

Man, that is a very Sad situation the Greg Kelley suffered through. I hope the DA and county that wrongfully prosecuted him pays for his college education. At the very least.
