That is why I quit watching the nfl two years ago. Stopped watching the astros after they walked off the field 2 weeks ago. Hope I can watch horns. We will see soon. My donations already dried up.

Okafor out with hamstring injury in the 3rd quarter. Karma. Maybe stretched it out when he took the knee.

Georgia has Herschel Walker, a great patriot , as a representative of their team, and Texas has Okafor...SMDH !!!! Wouldn't have thought it in a thousand years....Herschel has surpassed Earl as my most loved player of all time. To think after the team pulls some BS Saturday, that will disrespect our university and country, I will end my nearly 60 year love affair with my beloved TEXAS LONGHORNS !! I pray it doesn't happen, but I have to prepare myself. I see no way that POS California ******* has instilled any school pride or national pride into his players. Could I be wrong ? We will see.

Didn’t watch the game. According to yahoo article opening NFL game 2019 had 22 million viewers, opening NFL 2020 16.4 million down 25%. This is even a time where people want to watch sports to get away.

This forum seems to be full of racists. Just wondering, how many of you are white and over 60?

Yea, it's kind of become a right wing, conservative circle jerk.
But I keep coming back for some reason. ;)

What's racist about wanting to be entertained while watching football and not wanting to see someones divisive actions nor opinions? Especially when the main goal of the organization they support is to completely change the fabric of the US into a socialist state. I for one will NEVER support anyone nor any organization who want's to do that.

It's like they have no idea who they are supporting and what they are doing. Or maybe they do which is even worse. If they think they are supporting an organization who really cares about black people they are terribly mistaken.

I presume most of us are like me who have volunteered and given money to orgs over the years helping people of color. However, orgs that are complicit in the rioting, looting, etc and who negotiate in bad faith are off my list.

Nothing. But don't be so disingenuous and pretend that's all that happened here, ignoring some of our fanbase wanting to disown a Longhorn (very Aggroidal behavior there) and even being glad he got injured.

Many of us just believe in a merit based society and that things like 9-11 are why we stand for our national anthem and salute the American Flag. We want politics out of sports and believe that protests are welcome but they should take place off the field. We believe that bad cops should be held accountable just as much as anyone else does. We hate discrimination of any kind, towards any person, regardless of color.

If social justice warriors want to do something more effective to combat bad policing, why don't more of them try to become police officers and influence the system that way? Become a beat cop in the most crime ridden neighborhoods in say Chicago, New York or Los Angeles? Be the cop who does not use a gun to defend him or herself unless you are 100% certain your own death is a fraction of a second away if you don't? Try to influence the system from within.

For whites that feel burdened by white privilege, why not assign a monetary value to that privilege and release the burden? If you feel that your privilege makes you, say 25% better off than a black person, then give 25% of your net worth to needy black families. Set aside 25% of your earnings in the future for the same purpose. Perhaps go door to door with a bag of cash throughout poor neighborhoods knocking on doors. If the resident is black, give them some portion of the cash and move on to the next residence, give them some cash, and so on and so on. The benefit and satisfaction will be instant, tangible and real.

Efforts to affect the change many say they want would be much more effective if they lead by example in such ways. Most importantly, these things can be done in a way that leads by example and does not demand that other people take action inconsistent with their own values and principles.

Or you could just accept the players are protesting what they see as an unjust system. We protested Vietnam when I was a kid and our parents hated it. They are protesting what the feel is unjust. That is THE American way and the opportunity that out constitution affords us. Instead of being angry you can choose to be thankful you life in a country that guarantees our freedom of free speech and that young people are always going to find causes older people may not like. And soon enough they will be old and younger ones will protest what they don't like. Calling people a POS because they see the world through a different lens makes me wonder who really embodies American spirit and who doesn't. This country was born on protest of what was perceived as an unjust government. What do you think the Boston tea party was? Too many people forget that.

This thread is a prime example: it happens on a football field so it seems to be about football, right? No, it is not about football, it’s about kneeling during the national anthem which is a political action/statement. Those threads should be created in the West Mall forum.

Today’s post on sports & politics may help bring clarity to this. I hope so because it is going to be enforced.

Players can believe Jacob Blake is a victim and a hero, but sane adults also have a right to call those players out as idiots.

The national anthem is politics. So if you want politics out, you have to take the anthem out and the military plane flyovers, etc. Make it purely about the sport with no politics of any kind.

Well moon doesn’t even believe antifa is an organization so,,,,,,,and yep I’m white and over 60. Just put me in my circle and let me die a happy longhorn supporter, don’t call me a POS and I’ll honor you with the same respect. Oh, and you won’t catch me yelling vulgarities at a black or a white and certainly not burning your building or breaking your windows - which I did not do during Vietnam war protests either.

Really? Their actions have backed up this quote.

“if we don’t get what we want, we’ll burn down this system and replace it.”

Letter to the editor: Things to consider before you support Black Lives Matter

The founders are self admitted trained Marxists. And if you wonder how trained Marxist think and believe:

"Communism, sometimes referred to as revolutionary socialism, also originated as a reaction to the Industrial Revolution, and came to be defined by Marx's theories—taken to their extreme end. In fact, Marxists often refer to socialism as the first, necessary phase on the way from capitalism to communism."

They aren't even trying to hide it and yet you still refuse to believe it.

One poster criticizes an individual for a specific behavior.

Another poster prejudges that an entire group of people is guilty of thoughtcrimes based solely on skin color and age.

    who is the racist?
