Does that article really have an insert that says they cumulative number has continues to increase’? Really, no kidding.
It does surprise me that there could be two counties with zero.

Are they sick? They test because of "protocol". Otherwise, no one would know they have the Covid. So ridiculous.

I think the Nebraska players who filed suit deserve some credit. They are who began forcing some of this information public, putting names to votes. Getting those names in the public sphere was a big factor in pushing this forward. These guys were actually trying to hide their involvement, despite the fact most of them work at public-funded institutions. Once they lost cover, it was only a matter of time. What a bunch of slimy cowards.

It should have been the media doing this, but they are just as slimy as the B10 Presidents. This entire plan was poorly thought through, and smacks of the P-word that shall never again be mentioned again.

Big Ten presidents approve resuming football season

I see what they did there.......Actually Big 10 was smart. Not starting until October. Less wear and tear on the body. They will be more fresh than the other conferences' teams for the play-offs.

I doubt if there is any significant advantage.

I've no doubt it will prove detrimental. Only 2 less game in much shorter period of time for the teams that figure to be involved for a conference championship and the CFP. Ohio State or Penn State will win the conference. Either one has a game cancelled they have no shot at the CFP.

IMO, he should not have left out the B12 from the first couple bullet points, but other than that ...

Upon further thought there are a few scenarios where it could happen but it's still highly unlikely.

The anti - football fans are using poor logic in their argument against attending football games. Their premise is that an asymptomatic person will infect more people attending a game than if they were doing something else on Saturday. I see no basis for that. At the game I attended last Saturday, practically everyone I saw tried to keep 6 ft away from others. I didn’t mingle with 20,000 people. The bathrooms were clear (maybe 2-3 people max at any time). Same with the concession lines.

Yeah mc after taking about 10 Minutes to get over the creepiness feeling due to the sparcity of fans it was nice to experience no lines, etc. I heard reports of 18,000 attendees so that means 7,000 more are allowable. That might put a few more in the bathrooms but certainly still plenty of elbow room considering all the open stadium areas. Maybe 100,000 would be irresponsible, I can get that, but 25,000 is just stupid.

Nonsense. It was never about a medical decision. And the the situation now is not materially different from what it was when they first took their secret vote. Then suddenly they felt left out, even the object of scorn and ridicule. Plus, the people who care most about this stuff really want the teams to play. Not to mention the reality of all those lost revenues had time to sink in. Basically they made a play, it failed, then it backfired badly on them, so they scrambled to save things.

Yep. The PAC started things with virtue signaling about "keeping our players SAFE!!!". Then the Big signed up, thinking it would cause a chain reaction and cancel the season.

However the SEC/ACC/B12 said nope, you two are dumb, we're playing. And they did, seemingly so far without having to dig up the graves of Aggie dogs to make room for all the expired football players.

So the Big has come crawling back, hanging their hat on testing, and of course, Science!

Thankfully for them the media asks no hard question with regards to the testing, things like "What's different now? How is your testing program any different than the other conferences? Why didn't you just postpone the season from the start instead of cancelling it? Isn't it a fact that you made the decision to cancel without valid reasons, and now have to crawl back since everyone else is playing just fine?"

Instead they will just parrot whatever the Big sends them in a press release. So wonderful having the media on your side.

I still think Covid will make all of this interesting. I was told that some teams have already faced multiple infections and may be able to play the whole season with players with antibodies. Others maybe not so much. Crazy.

The problem is people are still focused on spread ...ignoring the fact that the virus never had the mortality rate it was purported to...and it appears even less now. -Any reasonable person examining the current data would conclude the virus has weakened (or most vulnerable people have already been infected) and this is the case.
It amazes me how articles keep being written on fear of infection but ignore this^^^^^.
Fact is....if players or fans aren't planning on leaving the game and going to visitation at the local nursing home or ICU units then there is very little reason to care about or worry over these games and possible effects.I keep waiting for the article shaming leagues for resuming sports to list all the terrible things that have happened as a result.....but they cannot and will not do that.
All they ever say...or could say. .is there were a bunch of positive tests. And????

What will make it interesting is the same thing that has made it interesting all along....the response more so than the actual threat. Rescheduling of games, teams minus many or key players (I'm talking teams or programs who weren't aggressive and proactive), conflicting views amongst teams or leagues and scheduling effects, affects on athletes plans moving forward, etc, etc...

@RainH2burntO, I have been saying the same thing when people tell me about more "cases". I say, so what, are people laid up in hospitals and dying? Who the hell cares of people become "infected".

    Not really.
I can honestly say my family and I have paid little to no attention to this whole thing. I don't mean that pridefully, arrogantly, or any other "-ly". Just a simple assertion of fact.
