May be worth another shot...try The Corner first, if you can find it...

Who are the other (non-committed) OL we're still pursuing. We need at least 3 per class, 4 (or even 5) for most classes. And c'mon folks, none of this "but next year's going to be a great OL year in Texas recruiting"--so was this year...

Justin Wells thinks Shemar Turner will stay in state and its bw us and aggy, with aggy having a lead

“Texas and (aggy) continue to be the favorites of the people in Turner’s circle with the source maintaining (aggy) still holds the advantage. As we have mentioned before, one very key person in Turner’s circle likes the idea of Texas most, but is open to (aggy) as long as Turner stays close to home.”

The deeper into the season we get and the longer he waits favors Texas. At the end of the season he will prefer Texas to aTm if he is seeking excellence in his future DL temmates.

Suchomel says OL Eric Cade is down to Bama, LSU, Texas, and ASU
He says he wants to decide by the end of Oct
Saban has been personally recruiting him, but they are running out of room -- he looks like a backup plan for both Bama and LSU
Maybe an OT or maybe an OG - will take him a few years either way

Suchomel says OL Jacoby Jackson is mostly considering Texas, Baylor, Texas Tech, SMU, Okie St and could decide soon.

“I’m kind of just weighing a few other schools. I think I’m making a decision in another month maybe.”

Justin Wells on Bryce Foster, OG, Katy Taylor
The Mountain grew up immersed in maroon, so (aggy) were always going to be a factor. He also built a nice relationship with Herb Hand, and high school teammate Hayden Conner is a part of UT's C/O 2021. Despite a family of (aggy) and a long relationship with the UT staff, we often see a compromise school - a college that isn't the home favorite - and in this case, Oklahoma might win out by default.

Burnt Orange so much sharper than Bright Orange or Kentucky Baby Blue.

For a smaller guy, he is still only taking two strides for every 5 yards. That's flying.

Some of the paysites have been suggesting Terrence Cooks has been leaning LSU but the LSU boards do not reflect that. They think they are getting a different player for that spot (Jaydon Williams)

    Roach on Cooks
" .... I think Texas has been the front-runner since the spring, but the offer from LSU definitely shook things up. I believe the family is a bit split as one side is from the Baton Rouge area and they prefer the Tigers. As I've maintained, the relationship with Coleman Hutzler is very strong, and it's hard to see any other coach overcome that. It will likely come down what Cooks considers the most important factors in his recruitment. At this point, my pick is still on Texas, but the biggest thing the Longhorns will have to overcome is the perception that highly ranked players don't get developed in Austin. "

    Roach on Makuba --
" .... While Mukuba claims a top four of Texas, Clemson, Missouri and LSU, I think this is truly a heads-up race between Texas and Clemson. Over the past month, I got the feeling that Clemson was opening up a bit of a lead, but lately, I think that Texas might have the momentum. Texas is the only school he's visited at this point, but he recently told Horns247 that he was prepared to make a decision regardless. The information coming out of his camp is pretty tight, and Mukuba isn't even divulging a lot to those closest to him. Nobody worked harder on this recruitment than Chris Ash and Mukuba has multiple factors pointing to him staying home. At this point, I'm going to lean towards Texas and the stock on the confidence meter is trending slightly up."

Makuba is a good example of the ou bias at Rivals.
Back in March 1, McCutchin de-commited from Bama and gave a silent commit to ou. He told the ou staff he could bring Mukuba with him (they are teammates at LBJ). Mukuba's ranking then went from 64 in state to 43 in the next Rivals update (May 13). But on May 19, Mukuba released a top 12 that did not include ou.
The next time that Rivals updated their rankings, Makuba fell to 56 in the state. And they have him as unranked nationally.

For comparison, 247 has him as 36 in state and 212 nationally.
ESPN has him as 33 in state and 194 nationally.

So its Rivals who is holding down his 247 Comp

The extension of the dead period, and the early signing period means that the transfer portal will become transfer freeway very soon.

Landon Hullaby and Caleb Burton are smarter than Foster. They were both at the game, after getting tickets from their coaches.

Max Merrill, OT, Strake Jesuit - This could be next man up. Merrill, at 6-foot-4, 275 holds 38 offers, including Colorado, Indiana, Purdue, Arizona State, Louisville, and virtually all the Ivy Leagues. He seems to have his eyes on two schools that have yet to offer - Texas and Stanford. A UT offer would be something Merrill would relish and push the Longhorns near the top of his list. Beware of the trees in Palo Alto. Jett Bush might actually help here. Merrill has some genuine upside.

Ty Buchanan, OT, Corpus Christi Calallen - Another of the next tier offensive tackles, at 6-foot-5, 280 pounds, Buchanan packs a solid punch and brings his lunch pail to work each day. With 30 offers in hand, only a few stand out - Texas Tech, USC, Oklahoma State, and Colorado. He speaks with Herb Hand often with Zoom meetings being the thing now. Like Jackson, it's tough to gauge his legitimate interest, but at this point, throw it on the wall and see if it sticks.

Glad Caleb was there, I really covet his signature. Foster would be a great get also but that is doubtful. I'm sure all the kids will be watching the red river shootout. That game will have a lot to do with who goes where and the championship game also. Also, I am hoping against all hopes that Donovan Jackson, committed to OSU, will look our way.
