Found this video on the official TexasSports website. It's one thing to express support for an organization or movement and explain why - giving examples, etc. But to come out and preach to your loyal fans about how their support on the court should translate into support off the court... Sorry but that is too much. IMO, public institutions (and their athletic departments) should remain neutral and not advocate for either side of any political issue.

To borrow a hashtag from the Aggies - #NotAnotherDime. Ticket account closed. Texas gear packed to be shipped to Interim President Hartzell. I'm giving myself 48 hours to calm down, but if at that time I still feel the same way, my diploma will be in the box as well.

Don't worry. There is a poster who will come along shortly and tell you how ignorant you are in your thinking, and how these athletes don't care what you think. These comments will be laced with "LMAO" and "LOL" while telling you to take your lack of support to KU or some other place.

Some others will tell you your shortcomings as well.

I for one will not be buying tickets or memorabilia. I will still watch the games because I will have cable either way. If I cut the cord then I won't make an effort to watch.

    Who watches volleyball anyway?

If you want to kill volleyball, you have to kill football. Football pays for everything else.

I will also comment on why the athletes are making videos like this.

They are being told by professors or professional activist (who are we kidding these are professors too) that they have influence and that they have to use their influence to bring change. It's the shame game activists always use. They think if they can convince Texas athletes to make videos that the fans will go along because we look up to them. I think they over estimate the level of influence they have, but it could entrench the younger generations in the SJW camp.

Sorry to see this. Lost my interest in the soccer And was hoping to keep going to some volleyball. This just sucks.
Horn fan, don’t send back the diploma, calm down and you’ll realize that means more than some talented but misguided volleyball girls.

@Monahorns, we have actually watched a lot of the volleyball here the last couple years. My 10 year old plays. Plus, we found out one of the recruits is from Plainfield, IL, about 20 minutes away.

I agree. Volleyball at Texas has been great for awhile and action filled fun to watch games
Now I will not watch or go to another game

Yep. Definitely looks like a really fun atmosphere that we had talked about attending.

Those fans are as loyal as any Fball fan. Many fans have been ticketholders for decades
I wonder how those fans will react to the pandering.

I doubt any or very few fans will be allowed this year so it will be hard to tell if I watched, but, of course, now with this ******** I won't watch.

Like me and football they will most likely still attend. It’s those of us who have enjoyed catching a game when we can around the football schedule that may opt out.

The most retarded statement ever....or at least for today....

"All lives can't matter until black lives matter"

Do those idiots really think that black lives are excluded from all lives?

In the last decade watching sports at UT has gotten so expensive I mostly just watch on TV attending just a few live events...a football game, a couple baseball, couple softball, couple volleyball. I'll still watch the games on TV tuning in late and tuning out early unless the game is in doubt. I also change channels when the stupid BLM commercials come on, but I just can't spend any of my money on tickets to come away with them trying to tell me what to think or believe.

FWIW, 2020 really has taken a turn for the worse. My wife broke my 15 year old 2005 National Championship coffee cup that I use just about every time I make coffee at home. I almost cried.

Thx for posting. No more watching the v ball team on LHN for me.

It comes down to baseball now , for me. I'm out on the other sports over this mess. Promote BLM, and no more trips to the Disch for me until I see a major change in attitude.

I won't burn the campus down. I won't grab a bullhorn and create a nuisance. I won't beat up seniors that are of a different race than myself. I'll just find another way to spend the money I've spent in Austin since the 1970s (as a student, then as a military member, then as an Ex.)

I honestly think this is what the NFL, NBA, UT etc ...are banking on. I think they wrote off this year financially and are using it as a year to SJW. They're thinking most people weren't going to come anyway and others are missing their respective sports so much that they'll ignore it.

I think college athletics are fundamentally broken at this point. With the new pay for play paradigm, it will make it next to impossible for small schools to ever have that cindarella year. All the top talent will go to the top 20 schools so that they can cash in. Schools with larger fanbases will win out because there is more cash to be made selling your name there.

You couple that with the approach by athletes that they can do whatever and say whatever they want and be shielded from the fallout because they are "just kids".

And here is the thing. This is only this years crop. Next year, they will feel like they need to "do something" so they will come back again with new demands.

Time to defund College Athletics and just go back to being an education institution. And we need to lay off all these overpaid Academics so we can get tuition back to a reasonable rate.

Well said BOS. I will be subjected to SEC football this weekend with all of my Tennessee family at a get together. If I hear any SJW on the TV, I will head outside if the weather is nice.

Vote against any politician claiming we need more business loans for bail outs for COVID.

These aren't going to small businesses who are just trying to survive. The loans are going to SJW corporations and universities.
