Suchomel says S Andrew Mukuba will announce Thursday
Clemson seems to think they have it, but Gerry Hamilton says there's a little bit of growing confidence on our side also.

Never said it wasn't. Just kind of said he was almost gift wrapped and delivered. Drayton obviously liked what he saw and so did Herman.

What I disputed was the author's assertion the "Texas was all over him early" because they were not. End of story. Very glad he and Drayton made that connection which survived the aOSU Kool-Aid test.

I agree with you, they are two different things
But subsequent success on the field was not a metric for the article. Thus, they listed Rising above Robinson (which I do disagree with).

It references the author's lack of accuracy and lazy journalism. It in no way reflects upon Bijan. A lot of people just missed the whole point of my objection to the miscitation of fact and are just glad Bijan signed with Texas, as am I.

From what you posted about his coach, it sounds like his coach introduced the idea of Texas to him. And possibly contacted the Texas coaches to introduce Bijon to them. Not sure if that is correct, but that's the gist of what I understood.

That being the case, the Texas coaches deserve all the credit for sealing the deal. 'Closing' is what recruiting is all about. TH and crew beat out dozens of other coaches to WIN the "Bijon Battle." They deserve credit for that win. And it was a BIG win.

We need schemes or plays that give him running room. He runs into the line and gets tackled for 3 yards. I could do that.......maybe.

Both of those statements are true.

The statement by the author that the Texas staff was involved early was not. There was no interaction until Bijan visited the Spring game. Texas offered shortly thereafter and Drayton and Herman made the personal connection. No more hurdling of standing LB for awhile, I hope.

Rumor is the adult Brockermeyers are getting the cold shoulder from within most or even all UT circles. Kristy doesn't like it and attempting to overcome it.

I’m calling ******** on that. From T-shirt fans probably. From those that count, Herman will get or has already gotten the cold shoulder before the Brockermeyers will

That “rumor” screams of the old reports put out by Scott Hill and Barry back in the day.

Regardless, the answer is to split the baby obviously. One goes one way and the other goes the other way.

Thats unfortunate the parents are treated like that if its true. These kids made what they believe to be the best decision for their future. You can be disappointed they didnt pick UT which I am but wish them the best in their future. They looked at the facts, made the choice and based on past performance they probably did ok. Should UT fare better this season, perhaps they revisit the choice. Given the struggles I saw at TT with a 3 man rush pressuring our QB I dont fault them at all. Herman has not proven himself to be elite in my humble opinion and Saban is.

Neither coaches the OL. One could argue Texas recently developing 3 Stars into draft choices shows real development.

But both "recommend" schemes and approve same. Each is ultimately in
charge and the buck stops on his desk. Saban is elite, among the most elite in college football history; Herman has three big wins in his career.

The last thing a program needs is guys riding coattails into programs they are not bought into.

Probably wont qualify as one of "Tom Herman's Biggest Recruiting Wins at Texas"

That may be true, but Satan may retire after this year. He's 69 years old and most likely is about worn out. TH may get fired and Big Nose comes to Texas. You simply never know what's going to happen so unless you're 99% sure the elite coach and program are going to be around the next 4 years you should commit to a program, not a coach.

"Yesterday I wrote a bit of a guess of a prediction on Texas due to him being torn, proximity, family, etc but today I'm going the other direction and I put in a FutureCast pick for Clemson. Close race down the stretch and Chris Ash/Tom Herman did a good job of getting UT back in the race after the Longhorns had fallen off under the previous defensive coaches, but I just don't think their efforts will be enough in the end. I hadn't put a FutureCast pick in for either team prior today, but went ahead and put one in for Clemson this morning."

    Currently 23.5% to Texas

Their future would be the same whether attending Texas or Alabama. One will probably go pro and one will probably be a bench warmer or occasional relief to the starters. If they made the decision because Bama wins championships and we don't then I could respect that if that's what they said. They haven't said that which I think is why people have a hard time understanding their decision.

They would be revered here and put on a pedestal because of the blood line history. At Bama they'll just be incoming freshmen like everyone else. Maybe that's what they want but I doubt it.
