They absolutely don’t. They deserve everything coming their way undisciplined, unmotivated, entitled .....,, So many labels for this team and this coach
Yeah, it would be like your on parole, drunk cousin making a toast at your wedding. Just shut up and stay in the back, out of sight, out of mind.
Posted this on another thread but applies here: Frankly my desire to support this particular team is inversely proportional to their desire to sing the Eyes. Normally I am pretty positive even with gut punch losses but with this team I have zero patience and it is directly tied to the Eyes of Texas issue.
Said it a couple of weeks ago or so we shouldn't sing after a loss. Incredibly stupid and pretentious as hell.
Traditionally, it's been for the students and fans to say thank you to each other, win or lose. Some UT fans used to make it a personal choice to never leave before the Eyes, even during games like the UCLA 66-3 whipping at home. This group of players apparently doesn't either care about fan support, or the traditions of this great school. Apparently neither does the coach, or he'd say it's part of what's involved with wearing a UT jersey. And the portal is right there for you if you don't.
They keep playing like this, they ought to take the Bevo off the helmet and have them wear plain white generic unis for all games.
No, just run them all off, and get all walk-ons. The players would actually be student athletes, who didn't have 2.1 GPA's, 900 SAT scores, and who graduated in the top 89% of their high school class. You wouldn't have to have a whole department of tutors to do their work and try to keep their eligible to play. And maybe, just maybe, you'd have student athletes who were proud of the great traditions and history of this school.
Come on guys dont be so hard on them. They cant sing the eyes and play hard football. They would be too tired to march at night.
Left. Don’t have to worry about them singing or not. Some hang around shaking other team hand etc, many leave immediately, but they certainly do NOT stand around to sing the “eyes”,
They walked to the locker room with their head down. 5 players stayed on the field for the Eyes. This time, the Eyes was played after the players finished shaking hands with the other team, so no excuse this week. Sam and one other player were the only 2 players with a raised hook’em.
3rd week in a row I’ve said this - no team culture. You can’t allow players to quit over and over and beg them to come back.
When I was a kid, if you told me there would come a day when the Texas Longhorns would be owned by TCU, I would have asked if you’d gotten into daddy’s moonshine.
Maybe the boosters should boycott donations. Bet CDC would personally escort all their pampered asses back on the field after the game if that happened.
