This guy might be the biggest A-Hole ever at the “40”...For me, it started when he “mocked” Drew Lock! ( who does that?) then dismantles our “bridge” to our athletes and our “core” values ( that he has know clue about!)......

    Let’s move on!

The University is lucky I'm not one of the BMDs, because I would pull all my support from athletics after seeing these athletes ( soccer, volleyball, football, etc ) . I do have great respect for Sam Ehlinger and the handful of young men who stayed and stood for the Eyes after the game today. Most all of the players who put those uniforms on are NOT LONGHORNS. They are pretenders. For the first time in 64 years I will be cheering for any team that lines up against these pretenders. I want the TEXAS LONGHORNS back with a real coach who supports THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS !!!!!!!!!!.

I don't know if I want to watch the red river shootout. I'm scared I might see the same ineptitude. Was it because of a lack preseason, not enough reps. But it is the third game of the season. I think the officials played a role, negating some big plays. I suppose I will watch because the off season is long, but I won't have my hopes up. Whatever happens, happens.

So you are defining who are the real Longhorns. Interesting.

If I understand you, the real Longhorns are the ones who support the school/team when they are winning .

I disagree. I think the real real Longhorns are the ones who support the team, period. Just wondering, after you get through cheering for OU next weekend, will you stay for the Eyes? You sir are the real pretender. You will not be missed.

What is the buyout as of the end of the season? How many of you can cough up $20m?
I never cared much for the guy and noted his big wins at Houston were matched by a couple of wtf losses in the same season. He may be a pedestrian coach but he may also grow into a very good one at some point.
Our school has been mediocre at football a lot more than it has been superior so we should relax, pay the man for a couple more years (which we are obliged to do by contract) and see if he can right the ship. If not, there is room for one more on the boat with Charlie, John and others.
Just out of curiosity, who would you guys hire to replace him right now if given the chance? Saban and Patterson are not available

Probably more like a frustrated fan. When you give your money, time and heart and get those results it is hard to be loyal. I understand his frustration.

Do "real" Longhorns take pride in representing the institution that is the University of Texas? Do "real" Longhorns honor the history and tradition of our once great university? IMO that should be a fundamental litmus test for a "real" Longhorn. One which, with a few exceptions, this current crop of players and coaches fail miserably.

    Oh, I'm frustrated.
But I wake up every Saturday morning ready to cheer on the Longhorns regardless of win/loss record, who the coach is or the political climate.
Does my excitement level go up and down through the course of the season depending on win/loss?
    Hell, yea.
Right now we have one loss.
    OU has two.
Win out and we still play for conference championship.
Until that scenario becomes impossible I will hold out hope.
You want to root for the competition?
You want to boycott watching the games this year.
    Then GTFO!

Some fans will always support the UT football team, and I don't belittle or insult them, or try to change their minds - that's their right to cheer on whoever they want to.

But fact is, this team is uniquely disliked by the fans. Lots of reasons - off field issues, uncalled for insults to the fans from the coach, dismissal of time honored fan and player traditions like singing the Eyes of Texas, and then playing terribly and far below their abilities.

The 2020 UT Football team should be a cautionary tale for the next coach, and next set of players, as to what not to do.

I support the Texas Longhorns win or lose—and I’ve seen plenty of losing seasons.

But Tom is on some pretty thin ice—even with me. And I have a lot more patience and foregiveness than most fans and alums.

There were 5 players that stood for the eyes after the game and showed their love for the school. Sam said the score did not represent the school. The majority of these players dont represent Texas. They wear the uniform but do not seem to care about the school. The coach has thrown the school under the bus. I still love Texas but will not support this group of losers or coach, win or lose. I think there are many fans that feel the same way. What is the real shame is the players that do care have been put in this position. Supporting the school can be shown in other ways besides blind support of this coach or team. I think that if fans did not care about the school they would not be so upset. That is their right, like it or not.

Among the frustrating things to me is that after graduation (and during school) I attended virtually every home game and had season tickets. When we were in the SWC I attended many away games. My season tickets were in a section where there were many people just like me that attended rain or shine, win or lose, and sang the eyes of Texas before and after the game as did our athletes and most faculty.

Then a funny thing happened, money guys got involved and decided that we could not "keep" our seats by merely paying the face value of the tickets. Many could not do it and many would not do it. The home game experience became more donation driven and less year in and year out commitment driven. I think what is going on with Volleyball, with those committed to the Longhorn VB program no matter what, fleeing because the current team is not committed to Texas the way the fans are, is another example of how Texas has lost its way with money (and politics) over support for the University of Texas and its athletic departments by people that are true fans.

Eventually I am afraid that Texas and others will suffer a fate similar to the NFL and NBA if it does not get it together. If it is all about money then expect to lose money with a bad product on the field. If you wish to insult the sensibilities of your alumni base, expect them to wander off and lose interest. My hope is hat the University, its alumni and friends, and its athletes could seek to support and honor each other, our University and our state as we once did. I just don't think we are on the same page right now because of non sports/University distractions. I am afraid Herman has been a participant in the distractions.

The likelihood that this will also cost us Quinn Ewers (the #1 2022 nationally and the type of QB who could carry any team through the playoffs) makes it beyond frustrating. I am not sure I have one word that expresses it properly.

There are some lyrics from the fight song of the high school my daughter attended that I really liked:

You’ll never hear us singing the blues,
We’re loyal whether we win or lose!

Count me as being in that camp.

I know Urban Meyer evokes a lot of negative reactions but I think he could take our same personnel, perhaps even the same assistant coaching staff, and win 10 games
We have a 4-year starter at QB who was on the preseason player of the year list(!)
