Out of curiosity, is there anyone left on the Herman train? I am not going to debate you (and I am sure other posters will), but if you want Herman back next year, check in here and let us know why you want Herman to return. Like I said, I am curious to see how many (if any) supporters he has left and their reasoning.
How many times can I vote "no". I went out to Memorial Oaks, but could only get 43 names off headstones before it closed.
Nope. I worry his buyout combined with AD revenue strain re: covid will come into play in responses. “Well yes but we can’t afford it...” Assuming he can just be replaced...no hitches or constraints... Still on board 4 years in?
So after the Baylor game? A good Big XII senior QB who is still kissed that Texas did not offer him (a gray shirt offer doesn't count) = The Texas D doesn't have a chance.
Just to state the obvious, I think three losses is fantasy land. Heck, the way we played yesterday, we could finish with three wins.
Mad about the politics but still think he’s right there. If he’s out and we get urban Meyer I’ll say let’s go! If we can’t get Meyer then anyone else is just another 8-4 (or worse) guy.
I wanted him gone when he threw the fans under the bus, and supported these PRETENDERS who don't want to sing The Eyes.
You can make an economic argument for keeping him, that's about it. I am done with him and if somehow the money can be made to work out I hope his sorry butt is hitting the pavement as soon as possible.
Herman gambled that he could win over his team by pissing off his fan base. He subsuquently lost his team. I am not sure if the fan base hates him more as a person or as a coach. Who would want to come to Texas rot play for this guy? The longer he stays the more the quality ion players will drop and we will be in a bigger hole than we are now.
There are significant financial issues with Herman’s buyout, but ultimately the customers (we fans) drive the market. When enough customers say no thanks, and vote with their dollars, change is forced. BMDs have an outsized role in this so I hope they are of a like mind to demand change, and not another exceedingly stupid-*** hiring decision like Charlie Strong. But I’m not convinced UT has leadership at any level to put this program back among the elite where it belongs.
I don't think there is any doubt that we are looking at 6-6 for the next 3-4 years. Even if we get rid of TH, the mismanagement of The Eyes issue by the UT Pres and the lingering resentment in the players won't go away with a new coach. I'm betting that many of these guys hit the portal at the end of the season. Whoever takes over needs to be a JUCO recruiting machine.
Wish I’d have said it so concisely. We all bleed burnt orange around here...but damnit.... this hasn’t been good enough. For a while. And it should be.
Prepare to join Herman is an immature, thin-skinned brat who leveraged his brief success at UH and stint as Mack's GA into a lottery ticket as Texas HC. I was fooled too, I thought he could do it
I really didn't know if th was the right guy or not and said so here. How would I know whether he was the right guy or not? I also said he had better be the right guy because we HAD to get it right this time. It appears we didn't. I'm getting frightfully close to 70 years old. I'm running out of time and patience.
Not only him, but don't want these University of Texas haters who are wearing our Longhorn uniforms back either !!!!
Can someone tell me what it is that Herman said or did that threw the fans under the bus? I must have missed. No wonder, since I do not listen to him talk anymore. Oh, and, No, I want him gone. He's had his chance. He's failed.
Michael, love you man, but the blocked punt and penalty are solely on Bujcevski and that was the difference in the game.
Texas coach Tom Herman on double standard and race relations - CNN "We're going to pack 100,000 people into (the stadium) and millions watch on TV that are predominantly white -- not all of them certainly, but most of 'em white," Herman told the American-Statesman. "We're gonna cheer when they score touchdowns, and we're gonna hug our buddy when they get sacks or an interception. "But we gonna let them date our daughter? Are we going to hire them in a position of power in our company? That's the question I have for America. You can't have it both ways." Herman told the newspaper he believes that if you're going to cheer for players of color on the field, that feeling shouldn't change once they're off. He said that they deserve the same amount of respect and human rights that everyone in this country should be afforded, according to the interview.
I don’t see how you can square his comments with the players refusing to sing the Eyes and being a part of Team Texas. There is a word for this exact scenario: bad faith. Good faith require you to either accept the terms (sing the Eyes) or walk away from something (UT) you don’t believe in.
The good and bad about Americans is we tend to soften as time goes by, so I am glad it is posted again. I want to stay pissed at that guy. I say we keep posting it every week or so.
