True hornin, kinda like posting the twin towers. Like Daryl Worley in “have you Forgotten” when he sings if it were up to me I’d show it everyday.

No but unless he goes elsewhere on his own, we are stuck. 5m/yr is too much of a buyout when the till is running low.

I'd like to see him gone before the end of this year. He would rather be an SJW than a coach who wins games. He needs to just go away and work for the ACLU. He is no leader, and with the exception of Sam, it's clear no one on that team has the fire it takes to win. I'm willing to bet that half that team hates The University of Texas for political reasons. Their minds have been poisoned by inept pro athletes (namely from the NBA and NFL) as well as corrupt tenured U.T. professors who hate America.

May the good Lord have mercy on my soul, but I’d take UM. I can’t believe I feel that way.
For me it’s not the losses, it’s the way TH handled the controversy.

I read a book several years ago about a similar incident with Mack Brown was coaching North Carolina, I’m almost certain Brown wrote the book, anyway he told the team ‘I support you however this is a team’

The way TH players, except for a few, have hung him out to dry is shocking and for the first time in my life, I don’t care about the Wins
This team needs a complete overhaul, players want to go- let em.

As a boss, this is what happens when you let employees run the show. They don’t see the big picture.

The costs of keeping him would be worse than the 5 mil payout. Season tickets sells would plummet next year. If you can't win with a 4 yr starter at QB, you surely can't with a redshirt freshman. Plus would probably costs a ton to tarp all the end zones with the new seating since no one would be sitting there...

The earlier-than-necessary extension for him will go down as just a terrible, terrible move....one of the worst in school history. And can anyone explain why and how it occured?

There was an interesting post on another forum that asked would you want '21 to be a transition year for recruiting or '22. '22 would probably give us a larger chance of losing Ewers.

Don't think it's if Tom gets fired but when. So go ahead get it over with now and try and have things in order for the '22 season.

    WorsterMan SEC here we come!!

Will TH let the whole house burn to the ground so as to stick with his players and the cancel culture / social justice dogma?

The payout for guaranteed coaches is about $25M.

$25 million paid out over 2-3 years or $150 million in lost revenue each of those three years.

Using my best Tom Herman voice, give me a couple of days to work on that.

Tom may have trouble getting one of those analysts jobs, much less a coaching position.
Not sure anybody would want him around their team.

I think this process that colleges use to renew a contract 3 years ahead of time is the most ridiculous thing ever. That really needs to change, especially at UT. If you win at UT, we will keep you and we will keep writing you bigger and bigger checks. And everyone knows that already. There is no reason to pre-emptively lock our employees into contracts to make their buyouts more expensive. It is the dumbest financial move, and we keep doing it over and over. Who was ever going to outbid UT for a winning coach that is already on our staff... no one....ever.

I was so mad after getting through the interview that I overlooked this piece. Not many, if any, students graduating from any university gets hired into "a position of power", much less a guy who skated through on a scholarship and more "free" tutors than you can shake a stick at chasing a dream that only a select few see fulfilled. He obviously doesn't know what it is like in the real world.

I don't get the part about won't hire former players. I know there is a large and strong network of alums who in fact hire former players.
    Herman is a lyin failure.
I wish he or some flunky would read HF.

Hiring "former players" and hiring "former cancers" are two totally different things. No one is going to knowingly bring in a "problem child".

I've worked with a few in the business world. It was obvious to everyone else why they were there. If only the average college graduate with far greater academic credentials could be so privileged.

True but until this year there weren't that many entitled players and there have been many hired by alums over the years

    6721,

I agree, and I am one of those alums. I have also assisted other players by recommending them, and occasionally tutoring on interviewing.

I took the original report to be hiring these puppets. I don't know anyone that stupid.

I think he meant in general. As in white alums never hire black players,
Former players know differently but these snowflakes don't
Abd they have no reason to doubt his word which only fuels their Sjw wokeness
He knows better but was playing to the snowflakes
    I can't figure out why

Let everyone who agrees with banning the Eyes hire the players that won't stand/stay for it. I'm on this thread early saying I believe in TH, but I've had some time to simmer on it and just get more angry every second. Don't bite the hand that feeds you comes to mind. 590 AM newcomer said he thinks the Eyes are done. Get angry but how do you come back from this? What players in the future will think differently from these players? I know this is the reaction "they" want, but it's such bs.... I saw a video where Herman told them after the march they went on "don't let this be the end of it". Well, wonder when we'll see "the end of it".....

The real threat to the program is apathy, not fan outrage. If they are talking, they are not yet walking.

Nobody is too big to fail. I no longer watch the NFL for example.

I have seen some of our best posters are no longer watching games. #redflag CDC

Do something while you still can or I may have to watch soccer! Jk, I think

It may be cheaper than losing the millions from BMD who want him gone. A friend who has had a suite on the east side since they were finished is very unlikely to renew if Herman is still here.
