We keep hearing dramatic pronouncements about the number of cases everywhere as if cases = deaths It seems like click bait or fear mongering because most cases amount to nothing
The thing seems to be that anything like this saying it "may" provide lasting protection is always discounted by the pro lockdown crowd while things that "may" be detrimental are always gospel.

I have a friend who went to TX-OU game. The guy closest to him is a contagious disease expert (according to his business card). Didn’t wear a mask.
Pfizer plans to apply for emergency use in the United States for its COVID-19 vaccine candidate late November Pfizer says could apply for U.S. emergency use approval for vaccine in late November
One of my managers is in a covid vaccine trial and gets her final blood test next week. They told her if this round of tests from the participants show covid antibodies the vaccine is ready. They are certain it will show antibodies. Trump was right in the first debate when he said a vaccine would be ready in weeks but it is very political and probably wouldn't be released until next year. This whole mess is nothing but politics.
Pfizer just announced they will apply for vaccine approval in 3rd week of November (after sufficient time for safety). However, results regarding efficacy will known in late October.
hic I was going to do the funny emoji But knowing the Dems would stop this if they could is sad Stop it for political purposes. The real people be damned
I'm more worried about dieing from the consequences of lockdown than the Corona virus. We have been below epidemic levels for at least a month now. But every time I see CNN the headline says "surge" or "spike" in cases. Last night they were talking about a new model predicting 2000 deaths/day in January from Covid. Program directors at CNN really should be tried for lieing to the public to produce fear. At this point the fear is leading to death. They should be held culpable.
A few weeks ago the model said 2000 deaths by Election Day and 3000 deaths by end of year. Deaths are currently about 650 daily.
If Biden wins, you'll see the characterizations change. It'll be like the recession in 1992. The political media talked about it nonstop, even while the economy was very clearly in recovery if you looked at the data. Then after the election was over, the recovery became a story even though growth in 1993 was slower than it was in 1992. Nobody said "worst economy in 50 years" anymore. I'm not saying they'll suddenly stop talking about Covid, but you'll start seeing the numbers contextualized differently. You'll hear Covid death rates compared to other disease death rates. You'll hear current deaths rates compared to what they were in April to show improvement. When the numbers do go up you'll hear about how they're going up in other countries so it won't look like a uniquely American problem. It'll just be a very different spin and narrative.
Yep if Biden wins slowly the narrative will change about Covid. The vaccine will work no more lockdown.
Actually, the economy will go into the crapper and they will say Biden cured corona, but since Trump didn't fix corona we had to shut everything down for a year and the economy tanked. Now businesses can't reopen even though people can now work and more bailout/handouts are needed.
Vol Horn considering the current path of economy unless Biden shuts us down I do not see the ‘crapper’ scenario any longer, not right away and I think even sleepy will see the danger to him of closing things down. Now when the radicals begin to take over in 12 months or so I agree completely.
It is correct. Testing has more than doubled in the past two months. Positive rates remain low but based on total number of tests new cases are appearing to rise.
Corporate media are propagandists. They will use whatever number they think will scare you into submission.
