Finishing strong would be a collective and sincere communication by the team to the fans that they were wrong to disrespect the university and they they were committed to never do it again in any way , that they realized that they had never considered how much they owed the university, and not vice versa. That they have come to realize that immature clowning around on national tv is not acceptable while wearing a Longhorn uniform.
    That would be finishing strong.

:arrow-up: Agree but what proof do we have that this can happen?? UTEP? I personally believe the players are leading this team. No proof so far that TH is. Can he change the culture in 2 weeks? Time will tell.:idk:

One starter and captain singing the eyes after the OU game kind of ended it for me!

    I want him gone.

And I don’t care one iota about any of the glee-club **** you all seem so Upset over. The whole team could stay for the eyes after our next loss (which will happen soon as surely as the sun will rise) and it makes no difference to me. You all are silly.

I just want us to win. Sick of watching one side of the ball or the other show up unprepared and piss away ball games. We can almost never play a complete ball game. If the offense is ok, the defense sucks. If the defense is ok, the offense finds a way to suck. And I am not even sure we practice special teams.

It was written in the stars when he hired Tim Beck and stuck by him even as he Predictably sucked. When he had to fire BOTh coordinators last year, I thought that there was a probability we were ******. We’ve all seen this movie before, sadly. TH is not going to turn a corner.

I’m not sure if most people on these boards want Herman gone, or if it’s just that it’s a vocal minority.
But among those who are screaming for Herman’s (and often CDC’s) head, there seems to be general consensus that they want Meyer.
But what if we can’t get Meyer? Would you want to keep Herman then?

And if you still want a change without Urban, who would you want?
    And don’t say Saban.

    Jim Mora Jr.
    Mike Bellotti
    Jim Zorn
    Mike Leach

Hell I'd even take Major Applewhite if he brings Chris Simms as his offensive coordinator. :rolleyes1:

We need to put out Herman's :dumpster: ASAP,

You are right, but he is an improvement over Herman. But the point of my post is that I'm willing to take the best available if we can get rid of the cancerous coach we have now. I think the damage Herman has done is worse than the damage Charlie inflicted. He has another week to turn things around and prove me wrong. I'm not wrong.

Mora was sub .500 his last two seasons at UCLA.
The board would be screaming for his head in two years.

And it would cost UT alot of money and every time things get shaken up due to coaching turnover, we take a step backwards.

Change for the sake of change gets dangerous.

I think people are in varying stages of forming their final opinions of Tom Herman. For me, he entered the season sitting on a frying pan and even before the performances against Tech and TCU I had circled OU as the game where I would make up my mind about his program.

If this season continues the way that it looks like it will, four years of Tom Herman is going to be enough for most people I believe. We've already lost precious time and fallen behind rivals by striking out twice with up and coming coaches. We can't afford a third strike. The next coach needs to be a proven winner with a system and a history of fielding CFP caliber teams. Unfortunately that's not a long list of coaches and the most available & likely is Urban Meyer. I'm not sure how many fans truly 'want' UM with all of his baggage but unless we want to risk strike three and give a coach who may not be able to handle the job a chance, we don't have a lot of options.

Accepting mediocrity year in and year out is more so. This change is necessary.

True dat. Change for the sake of change has been aggy modus operandi for as long as I can remember. I really don't like to make comparisons to aggy reasonable. BUT the situation with Herman is not just wins. He has allowed the snowflakes to run the program and lost the respect of the team, the alumni, and the fans. I don't believe he can turn the situation around.

You are right that we need to find a great coach to replace Herman. If one is not available, we need to find an interim coach to come in and clean house. Get rid of all of the poison players and staff. That may mean a period of mediocrity or worse. But we need to put Herman's :dumpster: out.

Anyone screaming for CDCs head right now just loses all credibility to me.
That's like a couple of those saying they're done with Jake Smith because he dropped a pass.
Silly talk ...and it undetermines any other, potentially legitimate, points they attempt to make.

I was saying he may be part of the problem a week or so ago, but I have had some PMs with smarter people and now I don't feel that way.

Texas needs a HC that has proven himself on the upper Power 5 level. Taking anyone just to get rid of Herman will not put Texas where they want to be. In fact more than likely Texas will be doing the same exercise in 2 to 3 years.

We keep coming back to someone who has proven himselfat the power 5 level
But when we look at the list the only one available comes with large negatives.

I am gruntled Herman is not the one. He really seemed like He was.

CdC still scores high on the trust factor for me right now
And you know what, Herman might respond to the heat (he has to be hearing it) and finish the year on a good run
I still dabble in hope now and then

I love ya man but disgruntled means unhappy. So, I am unhappy he is not the one. I wanted him to do well here and thought he would. We say "gruntled" as a joke.

    Definition of GRUNTLED

    gruntled
    adjective

    informal + often humorous
: in good humor : HAPPY, CONTENTED. Once, he was gruntled—a wife and a kid, a good job—but because he devoted too much time to the latter, the formers packed up and left.

Given our 3rd quarter performances thus far, my statement from the CS era is evergreen: They look like the coaches are serving beer at halftime. If they are not doing that, then they should start.
